Terrible customer service. I placed my order and asked for it to be put into a small box. Someone else to the lady helping me to put it into a larger box to not smush the one slice of cake? I told her no thanks, use the the smaller one and turn the slice of cake on its side its fine. She did it and then told me the price of $45!!! I ordered ONE slice of cake and 9 mini-sized cannoliās. I told her to check that again. And apparently was charged for full sized cannoliās š New price was around $19 and some change⦠then i overhear the same lady who suggested the larger box to charge me for it! New total is $22.61 š” Normally i dont write bad reviews. But i feel obligated to WARN EVERYONE THAT MIGHT READ REVIEWS. This place tried to scam me and STILL managed to overcharge me! The pastry chef or maybe the owner popped in and out from the back seemed very nice. But the lady behind the register is AWFUL! One of them was obviously new and being trained so i dont blame her. It was definitely the other lady who is poorly training her and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNew favorite local Brooklyn bakery. As someone who worked at a Sicilian bakery as my first teenage job, this bakery hits all the boxes in terms of price, quality, and freshness. They savory selection is just as lovely as the sweet selection. They carry accessible a wide variety of products at beyond reasonable prices. I bought a box of 25 mini cannoli shells for $10. At the bakery I worked at, each cannoli shell was $1/each EMPTY. Talk about value. Their sfogliatelle are phenomenal and they do not skimp on the orange essence or the filling. You can tell itās made from high quality semolina flour when you donāt crash after eating them and you Stay satisfied for a couple hours. Thatās the case for their savory products too (mini pizzas, sandwiches etc). Having lived in the neighborhood my entire life, this is a hidden gem I wish I learned about sooner! Hope this bakery to stick around for years to come, itās one of the last pieces of old-town Brooklyn that we need...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI bought some loaves of bread from this Italian bakery years ago while staying at an Airbnb nearby. I never forgot its chewy texture and yeasty aroma. On my recent trip to NYC, I made it back to this shop, and holy guacamole- the very flavorful grilled chicken Caprese sandwich was such a mind-blower! I could taste the wholehearted freshness in the bread and the grilled chicken, and the firm yet airy bread made my day again. The Zeppole pastry was also amazing. I also really liked the staff girlās no-nonsense style of service. Like, she answered all my questions in a very succinct way, and she helped me prepare and pack the food in such a generous and efficient fashion. She then engaged in no unnecessary small talk, just providing great service. Hahah I really loved how New York City that whole experience was. Now I wish I were a Brooklynite and could visit this cozy, neighborly, and purely amazing Italian bakery on a...
