This restaurant is horrible. I was staying at the holiday inn with my husband and 3 kids for surgery and we needed a hotel close to the surgery center with on site restaurant for conveniency. On the hotel’s website, it stated kids under 11 eat free at the restaurant, however, they did not honor this. Secondly, the food and service is horrendous! It took them 20 minutes to even take our order and with three kids traveling all morning, we were hoping to get our orders in not too long after being seated. This place definitely gives “racists vibes” because no one was pleasant and we didn’t get greeted upon entry, just was told “sit here”. With regards to the food, Everything was cheaply made and thrown together—we ordered the scrambled eggs & cheese and they literally added government cheese slices that is the single packaged cheese onto the eggs which barely melted. My daughter ordered the kids mac&cheese and the noodles were hard and the cheese was the powdered cheese smh. The pancakes tasted like microwaved cardboard. We told the waiter and he didn’t seem to care at all. We barely ate any of the food and told them we were dissatisfied and our waiter still didn’t care. We asked to speak to the manager and none was available to speak to because he’s on vacation, smh $100+ bill and we didn’t eat hardly any of that food, it was so disgusting. We mentioned this to the hotel staff, and the only resolve to this was to speak to the restaurant manager when he returned who was on vacation. Please save your money and eat elsewhere. The food and service sucked so bad , I’m still...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown for 8 days. Breakfast was included and served in the adjacent restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience there was mixed.
The food was tasty, but the portions were small and the menu very limited. Customizing your order isn’t possible – even a simple request like adding Nutella to banana waffles was denied. When we kindly asked if we could pay extra, the manager, Rego, just grumbled and ignored us. That felt quite unprofessional and not guest-friendly.
We only kept having breakfast there because it was included in the hotel price – and because the staff (apart from the manager) were genuinely kind and attentive. One server noticed we each liked two coffees every morning – by day three, he brought refills without us asking. That was great service and really appreciated. Overall, the team clearly tried to make the best of a difficult situation. It was obvious that they were being held back by their manager and couldn’t deliver the level of service they would have liked to.
The manager, Rego, unfortunately left a negative impression: aloof, unapproachable, and seemingly not interested in guest satisfaction. Because of that, we decided not to dine there in the evenings and chose nearby restaurants instead – where we were warmly welcomed and treated with genuine...
Read moreWe stayed at the holiday inn and received a free breakfast with our stay or so we were told. The server was nice after she warmed up to us and the rest of the employees were all lovely. I had eggs and an English muffin and fries. The fries were cooked perfectly. The omelet was good and was not overflowing with ingredients. I was dissapointed at the price vs what we got. My wife had oatmeal which she enjoyed and a salad. The hotel concierge walked us over to the restaurant and told the server about our breakfast etc before we sat down. When it was time for the check the manager (I think it was the manager) came over to us and somehow forgot that the hotel concierge brought us over. He then started making up rules on what the free breakfast should be. Yes this was after we already ate and nobody told us the real rules before eating. Either way he had us pay for the salad and we were charged an automatic gratuity which I have never seen before. We were two people and I was going to leave a proper tip until I noticed what they pulled. We...
