I have had a rollercoaster moment here. But at the end I left on a HIGH!

Initially I had left a negative review and I ended up speaking to the salon and hairstylist and the issue was corrected. So now I need to correct my review.

Right Now? I am in LOVE!

When I first visited the salon it was extremely busy, even more so because it is the holiday season. And I want to assume that is why I left with my hair that was not to my liking. In photo one you see just a tiny glimpse of my hair after I left the first time. And don’t get me wrong, it was absolutely gorgeous, but it was: 1. Not the color I wanted, 2. Not really suiting my undertones.

I thought I would just let it be and get it fixed somewhere else. BUT. I went to a party the next day, and I even got laughed at for attempting to have blonde/balayage in my hair. Mind you they were simply being bullies, but it left me so distraught, it finally broke me and so I made it my mission to contact the salon about the issue.

Best thing that could have happened to me.

They told me that you always have 2 weeks to come back so the hairdresser can fix what you don’t like about your hair.

I ended up going back to meet with the same hairdresser: DINA. And I was so worried and so anxious that it would be uncomfortable. But thank god it was not. She was professional and very calming after I was stressing so much. I am so happy I ended up going back by her because I have seen hundreds of reviews and photos of her work. She is an absolute wizard with balayages!! Her shadow work is absolutely stunning and I have been bragging to everyone, about how my hair looks AI generated. I am so grateful that she was not upset about my lack of satisfaction from the first time and that she took me back to get it done more to my liking.

I have seen the work this salon produces, especially DINA, and I am so happy just chose here.

I want to say that the first hiccup could have been as a result of them having a really hectic day and nothing else.

I do truly recommend everyone to Dina for the most stunning balayages with shadowing that you will ever see. My hair looks fake because it looks so good.

Thank you for the kindness and the amazing work on my hair. I have had one of the worst months and thought that changing my hair will help. And you know? It did. It helped.

Also, she gives the BESTTTT head massages!!! I could feel so much of the stress leaving my body from her massaging my hair. It was one of the most therapeutic experiences in a long time!!

Never coming again. Bella was the most obnoxious hairstylist I’ve ever dealt with. She made me wait for her for 40 minutes. Then imposed her own opinion on how my hair should look like and literally just trimmed the ends and called it a ”haircut”. And when I told her that wasn’t what we agreed on she went ahead and told me I will regret my choice. Like what?? Its my hair and a good hairstylist should respect her clients opinion and honor it to their satisfaction, not for her own ego! Not to mention she kept running around in between to do the other client’s hair instead of being focused on mine. Never dealt with someone like that in my life! Ended up having the most dull haircut I’ve ever had for that ridiculous price! The hair washing stations are so close to each other its like economy class on an airplane! People’s hair water kept getting splashed at me because there is no freaking space in between! So disgusting! On top of that, the lady who was washing my hair went ahead and washed another lady’s hair with the same gloves she washed my hair with! And the audacity, she went back to me to wash the conditioner she put on my hair AFTER she just washed the other lady’s hair WITH THE SAME GLOVES! And when I asked her to please change her gloves she told me they were still clean! And when I insisted she changes them she just angrily took them off and washed my hair WITHOUT GLOVES ON (and her nails were so long they kept digging into my scalp and God knows if her super long nails had any hidden dirt underneath them). Like what kind of place is this to not know the basics of sanitary measures?? Haven’t they heard of lice or contagious skin diseases? And why wash your clients hair with those long dirt-bearing nails??! Ew!

Huge disappointment. Not reflective of their rating at all. Regret every single penny...

At home I’m not able to get my hair colored and so I usually get it done when I travel, mostly if I have free time or transit during a work trip. My natural hair is jet black and I’ve been between shades of blonde for the past couple years. On my way to NY during this trip I tried in both Brisbane and San Francisco to get my hair colored - to go from blonde to chocolate brown. 2 salons in Brisbane within the same day - first one made it ashy and I wasn’t happy with it but due to being out of time I had to live with it. Next place made it red. Then in SF the stylist gave me highlights and told me I’d have to “live with the red” because “what’s done is done”. I accepted defeat. I left the salon with greenish hues in the blonde highlights he gave me in attempt to cancel out the red and different shades all throughout my head that didn’t blend. By the time I got to NY I’d given up and was so self-conscious about my hair. My afternoon freed up today and I booked a last minute appointment for a treatment and blowout because I felt like my hair needed some TLC after the ordeal I’d put it through. Thank the hair gods because I ended up at Bon Bon Salon in Ayhan’s chair. I asked him for his opinion on how I could salvage my hair and despite me only being booked for a treatment/blowout — without hesitation he offered to give me a gloss that absolutely saved my hair and gave me the beautiful chocolate brown hair I’d been asking for in the last 3 salons I’d been to. You can tell when salons/stylists actually care about the person in their chair and how they feel about themselves when they walk out and I walked out of there with my confidence back. 100 out of 10 experience.
