a small quiet oasis in a sea of Ubers and taxis is Abingdon Square. the “square” is actually a small triangular plaza of trees, flowers, other greenery, park benches, and uncluttered pathways at the intersection of Eighth Avenue & Hudson Street. the space is super-clean and designed to be friendly to the eyes. bring a book and a cup of coffee and escape the din of the rest of the city. the plaza is planted right between the Meat Packing District and the West Village so there are tons of options to grab takeout and enjoy a meal Al fresco. while spaces like this are scarce in Manhattan…they should not be overlooked for both their utility...
