Hey, so on June 6, 2025, at 8 p.m., I took my wife to this restaurant for her birthday dinner, hoping for a nice, chill evening. We grabbed a spot on the veranda, and our waiter was Benni.
Benni straight-up refused to take my wife’s wine order because she didn’t have her ID on her, even though she literally turned 22 that day. So, I ordered a glass of wine for myself instead.
From that point on, Benni completely ghosted our table for like 10 minutes and never came back to take our order. If someone else was supposed to serve us, it would’ve been nice to get a heads-up, but nope—nobody showed up.
I had to flag down a random passing waiter to finally get our full order in, but even then, I could feel this cold, dismissive vibe, like I was some kind of inconvenience as a guest.
When the wine arrived, my wife picked up the glass to take a sip. Out of nowhere, this guy—who I later found out was the manager, Daniel—swooped in, grabbed the glass right out of her hand without saying a word, and walked off. No explanation, no mention of any rules, nothing.
It was straight-up rude, unprofessional, and honestly embarrassing, especially since it happened in front of other guests. He didn’t ask for ID or give us a chance to clarify anything. If they’d just told me they needed to see her ID for her to try my wine, I would’ve run back to our hotel to grab it and confirm her age. But instead, they said nothing and publicly humiliated us. It was awful. We got up and left right then and there.
Later, I went back to the restaurant to figure out who that guy was. Turns out it was Daniel, the manager. I also asked for the name of the waiter who ignored us, but Benni—this young guy with blonde hair—just brushed off my request to introduce himself and walked away.
We used to love coming to this place whenever we were in New York, but this visit was a total letdown. Daniel and Benni’s unprofessional behavior was a disgrace to the restaurant and its service. We felt insulted and...
Read moreHonestly a really disappointing experience. I went to dinner here with my fiance on New Year’s Eve. We had a reservation for 6:00pm. We sat down and our waitress Carla asked us what we wanted to drink as the hostess sat us down - like simultaneously. It felt rushed but I thought it was nice she was providing good service. I said we just sat down (which she just watched us do) so we didn’t get a chance to see the menu yet. She said ok and just stared at us uncomfortably like she was waiting for us to decide so we just ordered drinks we like without looking at the cocktail menu like people typically like to do. She then asked us what we wanted to eat in the same moment we ordered drinks. We said we literally just sat down and we needed time to look at the menu because we had no idea what they served. She retuned within 5 minutes with our drinks and asked what we wanted to eat. I said we were still looking and needed a few more minutes - keep in mind we were sitting on the outside room area and no one else was out there because it was so early.
She told us we needed to order so we wouldn’t inconvenience the kitchen since it’s a holiday and everyone wanted to go home at a reasonable time. It’s a restaurant with set hours… she was so insanely rude that it made us so uncomfortable to even eat there. We almost got up and left but decided it wasn’t worth the hassle of finding a new place. She was acting like she was rushed to turn over the table when it was 6pm… in NYC… on NYE… like we were holding up the kitchen from closing. Honestly if I was the manager here I’d fire her. So rude and unprofessional and certainly doesn’t deserve to serve at such a high...
Read moreBoth Resturants are nice and affordable. I treated my cousin out to brunch and made the mistake of going to the sister location around the corner. The staff were so nice they put us on the, waiting list for the roof top location at 9 9th ave new york ny 10014, and we had breakfast around the corner. Our server Jenny was great, as well as all the other staff working yesterday on 4/2/2023 @2pm.
Both Resturants are equally nice, the roof top is good for photo opps. The food and wine selections were nice.
While we waited my cousin and I shopped for furniture as there was 3 levels of a furniture store in the building. I was not disappointed, it was a fun filled day.
