Oh My-ers! Let me count the ways at how much I love thee. As an ex pat living in New York now over 30 years (longer than I lived in my home country of UK) Myers has been my go to British grocers since day one. My parents would always call in a care package at Christmas for me to pick up at Myers, with Cadbury’s Buttons for the kids, Maltesers for me, Branston Pickle (mouth watering!) for a cheddar and branston sarnie, A Christmas Pudding, Marmite, Cadbury’s fingers, Twiglets (mmm), and the highlight - Myers homemade Mince Pies! For someone like me who adores Christmas 🎄 I love to do a traditional British feast every year, and Myers helps make that happen. I’ve had dietary changes so now can’t eat most of it but my kids still enjoy all the British goodness! 🇬🇧 🏴 🇬🇧 Thank you to the team at Myers! They also take email orders and you can pick up on a day of your choosing. There are long lines around the...
Read moreJust visited for the first time and was quite disappointed. The customer service was terrible. Two very unfriendly and bored looking ladies behind the counter had no kind greeting and nothing to say to us. They were personality-less which is not what you’d expect from a small family owned businesses. If you want cheery English hospitality, go just a few blocks away to the trio of English shops: A Salt & Battery (chippy), Tea & Sympathy (sit down restaurant), and the little sweet shop nestled in-between. They are lovely over there. Always friendly and talkative. In fact, we went there straight from Myers and the contrast was astonishing. Myers: take note and do better. Based on other reviews we’re not the only ones to feel this way.
Also, I ordered two cheese & onion & potato pasties. They were bland and had no cheese. In my experience in England & Ireland, cheese is a...
Read moreLived in the US for over 20 years and originally from the UK. British food such as sausages, pasties and pies are available from numerous companies in the US but the quality is seriously poor. In May of 2022, my brother visited from the UK and New York was part of our travel plans. Never heard of Myers before but we found the location on Google Maps and drove by and purchased a pork pie. We cut it into 4 and each tried it. I haven't tried a pork pie in 20 years but let me tell you that this was the highest quality ingredients I've ever tried. Most pies in Britain contain gristle (lumpy chewy fat) but Myers pies were unbelievably amazing. Better than any pie I have ever had in the UK including M&S. I've since purchased their sausages and the conclusion is that if you are from the UK and want TRUE British food, bypass Tommy M brands etc. Myers is...
