Wow, this place is a joke. We walked in there today and noticed the menu was appetizing and we thought to ourselves it was going to be pure deliciousness. Oh my god, we were wrong. We sat down we were provided with the menu and wine list. Ordered a glass of Cab and a glass of Pinot noir. We ordered the antipasti that had the beef with some "j juice" (not sure exactly) and then tried to order the salmon pizza and told the waiter (short hispanic guy) that we want it done our way. We wanted what's in it (wasabi, basil, smoked salmon and whatever else it came with) except we wanted half cheese. That simple right? Ew, apparently not. The waiter first said no that they couldn't do that. So we looked up at each other and were like are you serious? He said because the cheese will "burn on the side." So then we asked for the arugula salad and he says the antipasti beef we previously ordered has a arugula in it. Ok, so we said, can you add extra arugula to it. He says no we can't. At this point we were getting impatient. So then we asked for a few more minutes to look over the menu. Then we decided to tell him that we wanted half of the salmon pizza with cheese and that we were ok with the cheese burning a tad. BUT, then we also requested to add chicken to our pizza. The waiter again says "no, we can't add chicken to the pizza." At this point, we just got up and decided to leave. Walked out and found Don Felipe Restaurant down the street and had no problem ordering the pizza the WAY we wanted it there was absolutely no "NO's! It's that simple folks, I'm the customer and if I'm spending money at your restaurant I EXPECT to get what I want. Which means your staff needs to bend their backs to make me happy. if your silly pizza during my visit is going to cost $$$$ you better go above and beyond to deserve my business. Here's a pic of our pizza just down the street at Don...
Read moreWe chose to go here with friends (group of 6) on a Friday evening in May. We had a reservation and they had a space for us no problem. We chose the outside seating, which was accommodating in the yellow cabana thing outside. The inside was super small, so we didn't want to sit in there. I'm glad the temperature was about 68 degrees and decent. We ordered drinks, including the espresso martini and dirty martini, and they were tasty. We ordered the espresso martini with no Baileys. We had to ask for more water 3 times. We decided on 3 appetizers; calamari, arugula filet mignon, prosciutto on bread with cheese. All 3 of these came quickly and were good. I would say that its too much $ for the 3 slices of bread with cheese and a little prosciutto. We ordered 2 pies and they were fine, but kind of plain with flavor. We ordered entrees and got the spicy Vodka penne added grilled chicken breast. We also got the Salmon entree and the Chicken Parmesean entree. The salmon was good and cooked nicely. The Penne was not cooked enough to suit me, there was not enough Vodka sauce (I asked for more sauce and they brought it) and I definitely didn't agree with the chicken. I paid $8 to add grilled chicken breast (according to the menu). What was served was 1/8 inch slice of chicken that didn't add any flavor to my dish. When I took a bite, I couldn't even tell I was eating chicken and pasta. The chicken Parmesean was a 12 inch wide pizza looking item. It was like a piece of very thin chicken, breaded, with sauce thrown on it. Threw us for a loop, but it tasted fine. They also added a 20% gratuity because our party...
Read moreI went to serafina's this past Sunday afternoon on a first date. Since it was located near Central park it was very ideal for me and my date, as we just finished a scroll through the park. Upon entering serafina you automatically feel a sense of warmth. the decor was quiet nice with shades of red and oranges. We quickly set down with no wait or lines. As we sat down we quickly got serviced by our waiter who we thought was the manager as he was dressed in a gray suit compared to the other waiters. We then order Our first drink which was two glasses of red sangria, which wasn't as sweet as your typical sangria. Our first dish finally arrived as we ordered Calamari for starters. It was very good, not too burned or too soft. The Calamari was as cooked just right and the sauce was excellent. We also thought we've gotten a little gift with the Calamari, to later find out they had wrapped the lemon in this gift like packaging which sat on top on all the Calamari. Lastly the food was quiet good. she had ordered steak and fries and I ordered chicken parm. in the end Me and my special date had good laughs, talked for a hour and a half. Again it was actually relaxing specially when there was no laud music playing so you can actually focus on your date. Overall I thought the waiter or manager??? Was a nice guy even tho he thought we didn't speak English at first. Lol Oh yeah don't ever put one of those box like sweets they give you in the end of your meal in your mouth, leave them...
