They damaged my wedding ring to the point that I need to replace it. Took it in for repairs as a previous jeweler in town mounted my diamond back in crooked. Brought it in to Wetzel & Truex feeling confident that they would get my ring properly repaired. Got it back a month later and there were several issues with it - the setting was replaced on my ring from a 4 prong to a 6 prong (which we had agreed on). They re-mounted the setting back onto the band upside down, so my gem was now the opposite way than it originally was, then I noticed that one of the leaf designs on the band had been damaged, and my black diamond was also very damaged after getting it back. I included a photo down below of the condition of the ring before I brought it in to W&T. You can clearly see the gem was lopsided, and there was no significant damage to the gem. The next few photos you can see the damage to the leaf design, and dings on the gem that appeared after I got the ring back from them. I went in person to speak with Mark the owner on Monday 1/2/23 to voice my concerns with my ring and how I was not happy with it. He would not listen to me, came off as very aggressive, and invalidated every concern that I had with the condition I received the ring back in. Told me to get ahold of him in a couple of days. Came back in to the store today (1/5/23) and just asked for a refund. I had taken the ring to two other jewelers in town, one of them said they would not touch it because of how damaged it was and the other was going to charge me just about as much as the ring is worth to repair it. After telling Mark the owner this information, he proceeded to tell me "Oh bulls*!". I got my refund, but I am not happy with the way I was treated by Mark. nor with having to replace my wedding ring. The rest of his staff that I came into contact with were very nice and...
Read moreI have a fake gemstone sterling silver ring that the band broke on a long time ago. It holds a lot of sentimental value so I was desperate to fix it. No jewelry store would touch it. I tried about 15 different ones, so I gave up and cut the rest of the band off and wore it as a necklace for over a decade. I decided since I relocated to Nebraska over the summer and had never been here before that I would try one last time to see if someone would work on it and put a band back on it. I was 1000% expecting them to shoot me down but they didn't even hesitate to assure me that they could do that for me no problem. I cried when I picked it up because I never thought I would see it on my finger ever again. They essentially rebuilt my entire ring and I couldnt be more pleased with the outcome. It's beautiful and the shiniest its ever been. They were so kind and welcoming as well. I...
Read moreUpdate 5/21/24: Still rates 5 stars! These people have been around forever! (I think they're the jewelry store that has been serving Norfolk longer than any other.) And that's for good reasons. They know their business/products, they go the extra mile to get you what you want, and their prices are right in line with all others, (I'm sure their quality is a step or 2 above!) You can't go...
