I would not recommend any service from Norfolk GM. They used to just cost me money and aggravation, but every time I interact with them they exceed my lowest expectations...
On-site spray on bed liner - At just over 2 years after application I called to inquire about a garden rake that was peeling the bed liner off of the pickup bed. I was told that the defect was my fault. The 2-year-old bedliner, which had all but zero use in that time, could not withstand a garden rake (on a side note, the bed liner continues to deteriorate with no use of the pickup bed).
Be sure that if you have a warranty or credited services (e.g., free oil changes) you remind them every possible chance (e.g., before, during, and before paying for any service), as they seem to forget every time. It is strange, though, that if you ever mention a warranty or service owed to you, they'll wish you a good day and tell you you're good to go without even confirming that they had made a mistake.
Long story as short as possible: a couple weeks before the snow storm that started 2024, and shut down most of the state, I took my vehicle to Norfolk GM due to it being the closest GM-certified repair shop for me, and so many services would be covered under my vehicle certified pre-owned warranty. When Norfolk GM got back to me about the issue, they said it would take a couple of weeks to get the parts in, but reassured me that the vehicle could be utilized in the meantime. I was hesitant about the issue and still driving it, and since a paid-for loaner vehicle would be covered under the warranty, I asked multiple times if Norfolk GM was certain that my vehicle could continue to be driven without issue. Every time I was reassured that there would be no problem.
Fast forward a couple of weeks, the day before the huge snowstorm, and my vehicle completely fails in the early afternoon in Omaha, where I work during the week. When I called Norfolk GM, after going through multiple tiers, I was eventually routed to "the highest person available." The individual, who was a vice-something, said that what he could do for me would be for *me to contact a dealership in Omaha, have them tow my vehicle to their dealership, have them provide me a loaner vehicle, and have them fix my vehicle. When I noted that Norfolk GM and their mechanical direction was the cause of the issue, and asked how they would help me out with this, the individual's response was "I just told you." His "helping" was him telling me to get another dealership to solve the problem. No offer was made to attempt to reach another shop, tow services, or even an "I'm sorry, we were wrong."
By this time, it was after hours, and the other dealership was closed. So, I paid to have the vehicle towed to the other dealership. The next day, that dealership closed immediately in the morning due to the extreme weather moving in, so I paid for a rental car to get home.
When the Omaha dealership got to tearing into my engine, they told me on multiple occasions that my vehicle should never have left Norfolk GM's shop.
I don't know if I ever want a Chevy again, even though I've driven them my whole life, but if I ever do buy one again it will be from Woodhouse Chevrolet Omaha đ. Also, Hertz went out of their way to get me a rental right before they closed that morning due to the stormđ.
Norfolk GM, on the other hand, gave me bad mechanical direction, went back on their statements, and would have cost me $2,832.27 in preventable damages to my vehicle if not for my certified pre-owned warranty. Not to mention, because my preventable breakdown putting me back an entire day, I got to drive through one of the most life-threatening storms in recent history (a 2-hour trip was turned into a 6-hour trip) during which, on multiple occasions, I was in actual fear for making it...
Read moreI have previously had great experience having my oil changed here. However, my latest experience was completely unacceptable. I called to arrange a service appointment because the same warnings I previously had in September 2020 were popping up. In September 2020, Darik did a wonderful job of communicating what the issue was at the time and what he recommended. I would still highly recommend Darik personally. When the same warnings started popping up last week, I googled it and discovered it was a very common problem in the make and model of my vehicle, and pertained to a bad sensor. I passed the warning messages I was receiving along to the person I scheduled the appointment with, making sure to mention this happened in September 2020. They then looked up my service history and read those notes to me verbatim. I verified and also requested they change my oil. They picked up my car at around 1:30 and I received a call that it was done right before 2:30. I asked if they figured out what the error messages were to which they replied, "What error messages?" So, I explained it all again and they said they'd call me back. The next call came in at 4:21 stating my car was done. I again asked what they'd figured out with the error messages and received the same question: "What messages?" I again explained what was happening and was told someone had checked those and my brake fluid was fine. That's great but I didn't need my brake fluid checked as they'd just filled that in September, nor were the warnings just stating I needed brake fluid. It was then decided that my car would need to stay overnight since it was nearly 5 p.m. That's fine, I had arranged for that after the call I received after 2 p.m. I waited the next day until 12:15 p.m. to finally call and see where we were on getting it done. I was then told, "Yeah, it's done. Someone checked and it needed brake fluid so we topped it off and took it for a test drive and cleared the messages out and it's fine." I asked why I was told the brake fluid was fine yesterday and it was attributed to, "Must've been a miscommunication." So I requested they bring it back to me. Once I got in it to drive it, the dash immediately lit back up with a new warning: to check my tire pressure. I did have them rotate the tires during the oil change. Unfortunately while that was happening, I had two tire pressure gauges damaged or something because now I can't check the tire pressure on 2 of my tires. I will have to take it in (elsewhere) and have that serviced now, too. So basically I got an oil change, two non functioning tire pressure gauges, and $20.00 extra of brake fluid that I still don't know if I needed or not. I'm really...
Read moreSo I took my car in to get a alignment and after setting there fir a hour and a half they came and told me I needed to get the back toe links replaced cause the ones that are on there now are solid ones and they should be adjustable ones otherwise they would ruin my tires and I just got brand new tires so thatâs why I had it there for alignment OK so I said OK go ahead and they said he done by 2 oâclock that day so they called me at 2 oâclock so they couldnât get the parts until tomorrow morning around 10 oâclock so I said ok fine keep it there Well overnight I was looking up total links and Iâve come to find out that thereâs a recall on these total legs and my car was one of the ones that were able to get these. Totally replaced free under the recall so I called and left a message about 730 that night and I called again about 730 the next morning left another Message not to work on my car until I spoke to somebody finally got a hold of somebody at 8:51 that morning and I told him not to work on my car told him why and they said OK I can come down and get the car whenever. Well 25 minutes later they called me to tell me my car is done getting toe links on it, and is getting alignment now. I said wait what I was thought I told Jz not to work in my car. I was sure funny after I told them not to work on my car because of the recall that they worked on it anyway remind you this is not a GM vehicle. This was a Ford vehicle so I wouldâve had to take it to a Ford dealer to get it covered on the recall. I argued with them for a while long while and got nowhere they the bill was 500 some dollars I got it knocked down to $311 but I should not have had to pay for any of this since the fact that I told them that not to work on it, they were agreed to OK fine come down and get your vehicle be parked down here and then 25 minutes later, they called me to tell me it was done . So they made me pay the bill in order to get my car back. The service manager was very rude and a jerk about it. I showed him my phones about all the times I called and how fast it was after I called and finally spoke to somebody and told them not to do work on it and they said OK and then also they called me back and said it was done 25 days later he still refused to do anything I would not advise you taking your vehicle.. Theyâre...
