When my Mom and I walked into the store, we were welcomed right away. The gentleman introduced himself as , David Brown. He asked what our names were and then asked what he could do to help us. I told him what I was looking for, then David asked me a series of questions to better help him with showing me the best fit in a mattress. I am so impressed with David's complete knowledge on each mattress and adjustable bases. As I was laying on perspective mattresses several customers came in in which David welcomed and acknowledged and let them know he would be with them momentarily, no one was ignored. As I was trying to determine which one I wanted, David asked me if it would be alright if he went to help his other customers. I think that is very courteous and respectful. When I made up my mind as to which set I wanted(of course it was the most expensive one) David explained the finance program in full detail and the 0% interest is quite the benefit. My buying experience was the best I've ever had. No pushy sales person, a nice clean store, plenty mattresses to choose from, several purchase options and then there's, David. He is your best asset by far. He is a true professional but more than that, he is a true, genuine person. Read moreI was initially skeptical when my friend suggested I look for a replacement mattress at Mattress Firm; didn’t perceive a store so uniquely non-diversified could possibly offer competitive pricing. I was very pleasantly mistaken! David Brown, store manager, asked questions about my individual sleeping patterns & tailored a bed, adjustable base & pillows (who knew having the right pillow is paramount to obtaining adequate sleep) to suit my preferences & he price matched my bed (as advertised) with an internet find. Because of recent personal issues; home flooding, cell phone company bankruptcy, etc., I have a “temporary issued” bank debit card & the initial transaction was declined (as was my personal check). Given the multitude of issues experienced recently I should have expected nothing less! David was the consummate professional yet managed to offer emotional support during this additional hurdle. After an hour on the phone with BB&T the transaction was approved & processed! Were it not for COVID-19 I’d have hugged him for his diligence in helping me obtain my new bed! Read moreSurprisingly pleasant experience! We don't often shop for mattresses, certainly I don't. I sort of knew what I wanted but I walked in with a feeling something similar to walking on to a used car lot.
Turns out it was the store manager of the North Myrtle Beach location who greeted me. He was very pleasant and easy to talk to - we even joked about the horrors of buying the wrong mattress. He listened, quietly, patiently ... had a couple of questions (my budget, etc.). We walked across the room and he invited me to lay down on his selection. Head to foot, not just a quick 'laying sideways'. I loved it (but told him ... "yeah, like this".
He wanted me to try two other similar beds, one less expensive and one a little more but basically the same price as the first.
I fessed up that I actually really liked the first, which he suspected all alone.
20 minutes later I was out the door, queen bed to be delivered, 12 months interest free. (and 'try the mattress for 30 days' - returnable if I ended up not liking my choice.
It's been a couple of weeks. Perfect choice for me. He was a real gentleman. Pleasant, professional ... and he listened.
