MOD Pizza — Restaurant in North Myrtle Beach

Have been driving past MOD Pizza for a year and a half now and never went in. I always figured that a place that advertised fast Pizza would not have good pizza. That is not the case. We decided to stop because we had a pizza craving and we're very pleased with the quality of the food. They serve a very thin crust pizza so they can bake it faster I assume, but it's really good. One of our pizzas was an all-meat Pizza and the other was all veggies with a pesto sauce. Both were delicious. You can get your pizza and the tiny personal size, or a medium sized for a really reasonable price. We also ordered the garlic breadsticks.I don't think I would order those again, because it was just the thin crust pizza with garlic and a little cheese. Well it tasted all right, it was more like eating a cracker than a breadstick. The pizza really was excellent. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I felt rushed by the staff even though it wasn't very busy there. even though I told to them it was my first time in and I was taking my time looking over the menu board to check out my options, they were so anxious to help that they kept interrupting me while I was trying to read and make a decision about my order. I would have stepped out of the way and allowed anyone else to go before me, but there was nobody else behind me oh, so it put me off a bit to be rushed. It has been a long time since I have actually been excited for pizza! This is officially my favorite place to get pizza in Myrtle Beach, and an absolute MUST if you're here on vacation. MOD pizza takes a bit of a Tex-Mex approach to pizza. They offer a wide range of pizza and do have organic, vegetarian, and Vegan options. The pizzas are highly customizable and the quality is second to none in the area. The establishment is also nut free ( so rejoice peanut allergy patrons! ). I was particularly happy to see that the establishment was so clean. All of the line workers had gloves and they were sanitizing the tables as well. You can bring your pets if you want to sit outside ( although there is only one table outside). The staff was extremely warm and energetic and wasted no time in explaining the menu and options and were definitely "foodies" themselves. Management was more than willing to speak to their customers and it really spoke volumes to see that there is a pizzeria that actually cares about what it puts out and doesn't just pay lip service to it. Even though there was a line, It was only a 8 minute wait from walk in to food in hand. The crust was amazing, and had a crispy consistency about it. When I ordered my pizza, I ordered a "Mod" size, and it was just right, not to big, not to small. Right now they're experimenting with staying open till midnight on Fridays and Sat, and I foresee this place becoming a staple here in Myrtle beach. My husband was almost finished with his meal and mine hadn’t been called, so I went to check. When it wasn’t the one on the counter, the girl behind the counter just shrugged - couldn’t be bothered to ask what I ordered. I went to sit and wait a while. After my husband finished, we checked again. She then called over someone else who found it in a box on the side. I asked how long it had been there and he replied that it didn’t have a tag and no one had come to get it. (I saw the guy who took my order write the tag because he put my husband’s name on it like he did my husband’s order. It was in red marker. So there was a tag at the beginning.) So, the food was cold at that point. No apologies from either of them and neither one looked the least bit concerned. I ordered prior to 6:28 since that’s when we paid. The first time I checked, it was 6:41, and the second time was 6:49. It had to have already been sitting there at 6:41 when she didn’t bother to look since I was watching every order come out at that point and I would have seen it. The sad thing is that the food was mediocre at best. There were at least 4 people working, and they weren’t busy when we arrived, so it’s not due to them being short-handed.
