Very modern and beautiful at an affordable price! I stayed with my fiance and two sons, who are 10 & 13, for a total of 12 days while in the process of moving. The room was extremely clean and the beds super comfy! The only complaint I have is lack of storage space and a shower that wasn't quite female friendly. There wasn't a bathtub just a walk in shower with a waterfall shower head. Again, beautiful but it doesn't make shaving your legs an easy task. There aren't any ledges or anything just flat walls surrounding you so you pretty much have to stay bent over. Ouch! Obviously, with two adults and two kids we had quite a bit of luggage. There was one very small closet and two drawers located by the main entrance. Besides that, there were two work spaces and a long bench underneath the T.V. with space below each. That ended up being where we kept all our clothes still in our suitcases. The rooms seem to target traveling business men and women not so much families. I do realize there are more hotels that are specifically for extended stays and families but we only planned to stay a week. I chose Aloft mostly because it is a newer hotel, which always makes me feel more comfortable and not worry about bringing any unexpected pests home with us. They also have an indoor pool and fitness room. My boys were very excited about the pool! I was very surprised to find full length fluffy towels in the pool room instead of those cheap ones sized for an infant. Also, down in the lobby they have a little "convenience store" where you can buy snacks and drinks along with a hot food window that opens in the morning and closes later at night. They also have a microwave and toaster for communal use. There is a bar that is open during evening hours and from what I saw stays open according to customer volume. Another cool feature is the pool table also located in the lobby. It's free and you can play any time you like! Besides being a newer hotel the other big thing that sold me on Aloft was they allow pets for FREE! Most hotels, if they even allow pets, charge a $50-$75 a night fee per animal. We have two cats that are 9 months old, by staying at Aloft we saved $150-$300 on a pet fee alone. I also discovered an awesome program they offer on housekeeping. If you choose to skip on housekeeping for the day and clean up yourself they give you a $5 credit per day to use at the snack bar downstairs. You can still go down to ask for clean towels or whatever else you need. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay...
Read moreAs an extremely loyal Marriott Ambassador Elite member I opted to pay over $250 a night for this property. My mistake.||I’m sure it is a great hotel for dog owners, as you are greeted with free dog snacks as you enter the hotel and before you reach the reception desk. ||I quickly realized it is very subpar hotel for Bonvoy members.||The following is the Marriott program for Elite Bonvoy members.|Welcome Benefits for Aloft Properties:|• 500 Marriott Bonvoy® Points per stay|• A food and beverage amenity per stay|• Or breakfast in the restaurant per night of stay for the member +1||Ambassador elite members are also promised a welcome gift upon check-in||Greeted by the front desk agent (Olina) there was never any mention of Bonvoy status, which is rare in the over 100 nights per year I spend Marriott properties. Instead I was handed a $10/night meal voucher and a wrapped bottle of Aquafina.|When I inquired as to if the voucher was for a complete breakfast, she stated it was for whatever was on their menu board and the balance would be charged to my room. Generally speaking, the offerings were extremely poor and ridiculously over priced ($8 for a waffle).||Upon arriving in the room, we found a note stating we would likely receive a request for survey (assuming from Marriott) after checking out asking for feedback on how they could improve their service. ||The note also requests that guests reach out BEFORE YOU LEAVE directly to the hotel with any problems so they may address. Upon reading the note I went down to the front desk and asked Olina have Patricia Bella (GM) reach out to discuss the disconnect with Bonvoy program. I left my room and phone number for her to contact me. I never heard from Ms. Bella.||The hotel is more than chaotic. The lobby resembles a poorly merchandised 7-11. The gym and pool area have no towels and the rooms barely have any either. The doors in each room slam very loudly and the overall feeling is very sterile. The TV system is a mess, with no interactive channel guide, having to scroll through every channel to find content you want to watch. The hotel also has the spunk to charge a $4.00/Night “Facilities Charge”…I guess for the free dog bones.||Clearly this franchised property enjoys the benefit of booking through the Bonvoy property but has little interest (or accountability) to honoring Marriotts commitments to its most loyal guests. Loyalty has its drawbacks, especially at $250+/night||But there’s plenty of dog bones if they can hold you over...
Read moreLocation, the Aloft Cleveland Airport is a great place to stay. Located only 5 miles from the airport means you can get in and out of Cleveland without much trouble while avoiding the noise of the airport. They have a shuttle and airport flights and weather listed in the lobby. It's very close (20 minute walk. 5 minutes drive) to the Rocky River Reservation and Nature Center. A beautiful park with multiple trails to walk, run, or bike along. Even the road is nice to cruise along for a scenic drive. The mall and food is a similar distance just over the interstate 480 highway. The hotel's first impression is good. There is not too big of a lobby but has everything you would need. Breakfast is not included but can be ordered and there is a self serve cafe area with snacks and drinks if needed. They have a workout room, bar and pool. Nothing crazy but standard for this class of hotel. The check in process was easy and seamless. The minimal interactions we've had with staff was friendly and consise, meaning everything went smoothly for my stay. They even accommodated our request to be placed away from the elevators so we did not have to deal with others having conversations getting on or off of the elevators. We ended up in one of the furthest rooms possible from the elevators for maximum quietness. The rooms are impressive and modern. It comes with all of today's amenities minus a room microwave (but you can use the one in the lobby cafe area free of charge). That means a 49" TV with free programming, wifi (but is unprotected/free), wireless room phone, two desks with a large Fatboy beanbag and standard office chair, digital thermostat, coffee and tea machine, powerful fast flushing toilet, a minifridge with a small freezer area, good USB chatgers in the wall outlets for each of the beds (or sides if you have a king bed like we did), large windows with very good blinds and nice aura room lighting. The room we stayed in only had a stand up shower (but I would believe they have accessible-friendly rooms). The matress we had was soft probably a 3 or 4 out of 10 on firmness. Something to be aware about. If I had to complain about the rooms it would only be that the fabics that they use are not the softest (towels and sheets) but other than that the experience overall staying at this hotel is one I can easily recommend to others. It is a great value considering we we're staying for eighty...
