I booked here while in Oklahoma City for a night to accompany my father to his US Citizenship appointment at the USCIS Field Office. I chose this Ramada primarily due to its nightly rate, the lowest of the area hotels for a double room, as well as its proximity to the USCIS office near the airport, so I came in with essentially no expectations given spotty reviews.||The location is primarily targeted at those with activities near the airport or flying to and from and is within a cluster of hotels south of I-40. ||The room itself was solid though pretty bare bones and quite odd in terms of its setup. There was a sitting area with a table and two chairs and a mini fridge and a microwave but the room just felt empty. There wasn't a traditional desk area and the dresser that the TV was on was quite narrow. The beds and pillows were quite nice, though they seemed short on pillows with only three each on the double beds and the blankets were fairly thin. However, with the exception of some chipped paint on the walls, there was no real obvious issues with the rooms as far as upkeep.||The bathroom was in much rougher shape. Cleanliness was again pretty good but there were some more noticeable instances of chipped paint, especially on the areas of the wall near the tub. The tub itself appeared to be a cheaper material where the outer portion was chipped and the sealant looked brown in a number of areas but didn't appear to have obvious mold growth. The shower curtain rod also appeared to be rusted, likely due to contact with moisture. The most notable issue in the bathroom was the lack of water pressure in the shower. ||Breakfast in the morning was quite rough. There was two hot options, scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy, but the issue was everything aside from the hot. There were essentially no cold options besides two types of breads. The variety just simply didn't cut it though the quality wasn't horrible.||Staff throughout my stay were quite efficient and were receptive but I don't think were noticeably above average.||My ranking here is primarily based on what I paid as well as the fact that the hotel is listed as a 2 star. I'm conflicted as I think it's clearly a step above what you would get at other 2 star hotels (Super 8, Quality Inn, Rodeway Inn, Howard Johnson) but the lackluster breakfast as well as the bathroom's maintenance do drag the rating down. For what it's worth, I've seen comparable problems at other 3 star hotels but I do think that overall the room quality was acceptable, especially considering the price range it's competing with, though I can't push the rating to 4 bubbles due to this since Oklahoma City isn't extremely expensive to begin with and also because I am taking into account that Ramada is usually a...
Read moreI wish I had read the reviews on everything that I could find before keeping my booking. The first thing I will say is for the price, not the worst hotel we've ever stayed in! But with that being said we were staying for 3 nights with kids and there was ALWAYS people hanging around outside! Trying not to be critical here but they were people just hanging around, not customers, smoking/sharing joints and just generally making the scene uncomfortable when you pull in after dark to an unfamiliar place! The next thing was that we reserved 2 rooms since our older teenager would be in 1 room and asked the guy checking in if we could get rooms side by side or close at the very least, which I requested when I booked the rooms. He replied okay and when we went to check rooms they were all the way down the hall with at least 4 rooms in between. We went back to ask about it, but he replied no he wasn't changing it. Frustrating since I specifically requested it when I booked and the verbally requested it when he was assigning rooms! The next thing was that we were on the 3rd floor, supposedly a non smoking facility. The first thing we noticed walking out of the elevator was that it smelled like a wet towel... the next thing was the marijuana!! My word!!! We could save the money on it & just get a 2nd hand high, it was soooo bad!!! We got to the rooms & even though they were supposed to be set up for 4 people they had 2 towels, total. I guess we should learn to share! I did a video walk thru since I did read reviews later that had issues about not getting deposits back. There was definitely wear & tear on the rooms, doors that were hard to open close because they were swollen & torn up, handles barely holding on, screws missing from locks, just wear & tear. The rooms were not the cleanest but as I said not the absolute worst we've been in for the price. We did eat breakfast the next morning, which was one of the things I booked this specific place for. It was nothing great & we did make sure that we took NOTHING with is since there were at least 2 people glaringly watching you the WHOLE time & they had a sign that if you took anything from the dining area you were in something of a contract & they would charge you $10/person đł The next 2 days we just went somewhere else to get breakfast! I told my husband we would not again book a room based on it having breakfast!! Thankfully we did get our deposit back about 3 days after we checked out, since that was another issue in reviews I read I made sure we had ample pictures & videos of both rooms before we settled in & when we were checking out. Like I said, not the worst but I will definitely be more diligent about looking up ALL reviews about a place before I book again in an...
Read moreRamada should be ashamed to have their name on this place. I don't know where to begin to tell you what is wrong with this place. There are homeless people roaming around outside and sitting in the shade of the building. Security risk at best. They need a place but not there. Outside no policing of grounds. Cigarette butts all over drive way. The desk clerks treat you like you are a criminal and you are there to steal from them. I handed them my credit card and it has my name on it and my drivers license and all info matches and he overheard me ask my husband which credit card should I use as I don't keep the books and I did not want to mess up his bookeeping. The clerk made some remark about all info has to match and he was rude. I assured him that was my name on the card. Ok get into the elevator and ride the 2nd floor - the door opens and this incredible nasty odor hits me in the face it is a cross of urine, cigarette smoke, moss, rot and old clothing, it is the carpet in the hall. The carpet should be ripped out it is a health hazard. The carpet in the rooms is filthy and I did not go barefoot in the room. The carpet is not nearly as bad as hall but smelled of cigarette smoke, I used an entire can of fabreze while we were there spraying the ac filter and the room and the carpets, The sheets were clean and fresh. The bathroom had been washed down except the floor, laid the bath mat in the floor to shower and when out of the shower footprints were black on the towel on the side touching the floor. Ugh! Nasty! We slept there, we washed down the bathroom and I mopped the floor with the bathmat and went and got another one from the desk to bathe with, I had to turn in the dirty one to get a clean one! Nothing like being treated like a thief! No manners at all. There were not a lot of lesser rate rooms available as there was two concerts and the state fair had opened. I will never to there again only kept room as there was no where to go. We came we saw we slept there we left. The owner had half ass remodeled the bathroom the smallest and lowest toilet was installed not good for anyone except children. Trying to save money. This place is health hazard due to carpets. Should be reported to health dept or EPA. Awful conditions you would expect to find in a third world country or the very poorest side of town. Did not eat there - served continental breakfast - did not dare based on condition of room! Was given two towels one washcloth and one hand towel in room. As me and my husband share the bathroom - I had to go to the desk to get an additional hand towel and washcloth. Ridiculous! The bed was worn slapped out both sides has valleys in them. We had to use pillows to avoid rolling to middle. Very...
