They've done a nice job trying to upgrade the outside with a colorful mural, but we still weren't sure what to expect when we pulled into the parking lot. We were pleasantly surprised by how sharp and clean the rooms are in this motel. Actually, the suite was downright cute. Fresh paint on the walls, updated bathroom and decor. The kitchenette was a little too small if we were going to stay more than one or two nights, but we were thankful to have enough chairs that we could all sit around the table. The beds weren't terrific, but the pull-out sofa ended up being a trundle day bed, and that actually met our needs even better than expected. There isn't much they can do about it, but the back bedroom has poor ventilation, even with the air running, it got really stuffy in there.||||This property is across from one of their other properties, The Crest Hotel. You actually check in over there. My husband came back from doing that with a grin and a totally sincere, "Wow! what a friendly guy. He loves this place." You can tell he has spent a lot to invest in these properties. I don't have little ones anymore, but they put in a really nice play-scape I would have totally appreciated as a younger mom. Not a lot of green space- anywhere not just here - but they've done the best they can to keep this place family friendly.||||There is no smoking in the rooms, but people do smoke outside and the pool/spa weren't as clean as they could be, so it's a little rough on some of the edges. As advertised you can walk to the beach, into town, over to Palace Playland. So great location for what Old Orchard Beach has to offer. I'm not as taken with the scene as some are, but for what it is, this is a good place to stay and I totally want to support this industrious,...

Read moreWe booked 3 nights at Seaside Suites. Not realizing the train track is 30' from our room. It runs throughout the night, whistle & all. The wall air conditioner was almost as loud as the train. There was a small stand alone air conditioner that was not powerful enough to cool down the bedroom, so the bedroom temp was 79 degrees. The TV remote did not work. they did send someone with a new one at 8:30pm. There were no hangers to to hang our clothes. We got very little sleep the 1st night. We contacted the owners in the morning to say we would be checking out. They said they were sorry, but they were not going to refund our money for the next 2 nights. We packed our cars and closed the door at 10am, check out time. Realizing I left my pocket book in the room, I returned to find the key less code we were given did not work. There is no one on premises, so I tried calling, no answer. I left an email message. Thankfully, there was a cleaning person who tried open it using our code. It did not work, so he was kind enough to let us in with their code. We tried multiple times over the next hour, ours it did not work. Not having access to our room, we were forced to book another hotel. The owner finally did respond to our email at 4pm, to say there was nothing wrong with the code, it works fine. We had 4 people try to use it before we left. no one could get it to work. The owners are still refusing to return our money. I would not recommend staying here. It was just as expensive as other, much...
