The view, patio area, and live music were great! But that is where the positives end.
Our server took entirely too long to get to us (upwards of 15 minutes) once we were sat, I can definitely write that off because I know what it's likpe to be a busy server. However, she had no urgency, and didn't even acknowledge the fact that it took so long to get to us. We placed our drink order and the two waters that were ordered were forgotten. I had ordered a salt rim with my margarita, and I got a plain margarita. It was another 15 or so minutes until our server came back to take our food order. As we ordered, we had questions, and our server did not have any answers for us. She did not know the cheese selection for burgers or if we could substitute onion rings on a burger (for an upcharge, of course, which we gladly told her was no problem), for example. Our food came out quickly, but was sub par at best. I personally ordered lobster cakes and risotto as my meal, but received the lobster cakes about 7 minutes before the rest of the food came to the table. The rest finally came in three different trips, all approximately 4 minutes apart from each other, with the kids meals being the very last to come out. The French fries were cold, the kids pasta was sopping in butter and was stuck together, the burgers were unappetizing, and the risotto was a disgrace to all risotto (it tasted like the rice was cooked in unseasoned water, with little cream and cheap parmesan). That's not to mention the lobster cakes, which were like deep fried bread with red peppers and old bay seasoning, I don't even think there was any lobster in them at all. While we were eating, I observed the table across from us receive their food. The gentleman had ordered the seared sea scallops with risotto, which was $26, I believe. What came out was not that at all. It was, what looked like a pile of about 5 bay scallops with no color on them, and a small bowl of that disgraceful risotto. The gentleman was so appalled, he actually pushed the plate back to the server with utter disgust on his face. There is such a thing as the "truth in menu act," and I believe that dish was a total infringement of that. Overall, the experience my family and I had tonight at surf 6 was so off-putting that none of us will be back again, which is a bummer, because the location and view are very nice.
I would like to add that I have never left a review, good or bad, before in my life, but do realize that, in order to improve, you need to know where your weaknesses are. I hope for the sake of ever guest that walks through the door after us, you are able to improve as...
Read moreI’m from Tampa, Florida, but while visiting my sister Liz in Maine, she treated me to what I can honestly say was one of the best experiences of my life! We dined at this incredible restaurant, and from the moment we sat down, we knew it was something special.
Nick was our server—and wow, what a gem! His bright smile, fantastic sense of humor, and warm, engaging personality made the entire experience unforgettable. He was attentive without being overbearing and made us feel so welcomed and at ease. 🥰
And the food? Out of this world! I had the best lobster I’ve ever tasted—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every bite was a reminder of just how amazing this place is. Add to that a stunning beach view, and you’ve got a little slice of heaven. 🌅✨
If you’re ever in Maine and love seafood, breathtaking views, or simply want to make a memory you’ll cherish—come to Surf 6! And if you’re lucky enough to have Nick as your server, you’re in for a real treat. Thank you, Nick, for making our visit unforgettable. I can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town for more amazing lobster—and to say hi...
Read moreFood was meh for the price. Took a long time to come out. Waitress was nice enough to bring my daughter a pickle while we waited after she asked how much longer. I ordered gluten-free meal for my son, asking for no frees since they were cross contaminated in same fryer. We told server he had Celiac and his meal came out with fries. Then, on the way out I was interrogated about my reusable mug with coffee that I had already walked into the restaurant with when we got there. I had it from walking around the pier before dinner. I had ordered two beers at the restaurant that were both finished at the table. Apparently, people pour drinks into reusable cups and walk out, so it was assumed I was walking out with a drink. This wasn't something that I was even aware of, so perhaps I can understand why I was asked about it. (Still oddly rude.) However, when I told the man I didn't have alcohol in it, and it was my coffee from earlier. I got a disrespectful look followed by "I'll have to take your word for it." I'll never eat there again and I'm so disappointed that I gave them my...
