Where to start. The hostess and one of the bartenders were the only decent people working tonight it seemed. Upon walking in I asked to be seated at a high top in the bar area to watch the game. The hostess kindly took me to a table, where I sat for 15 minutes without a single person acknowledging me. There was a blonde girl, name tag said “rylan” who walked past me numerous times, even making eye contact once or twice but not speaking a word. She was helping the tables around me but did not make an attempt to help me.
The table I was at was also very close to the bar , where both the bartender and an older woman in a white polo who appeared to be the manager had to of noticed me. Not on of them said a word or acknowledged me. Eventually, the hostess saw I was growing noticeably frustrated and said she would find my server. I then saw here attempting to get the attention of that first girl, Rylan , who ignored her and just walked to the back. I then saw the hostess peak her head a few times and look my way, but nobody would come by.
I should have left ... but I was there to watch the game and didn’t want to miss the start. I moved to the bar area. The bartender (Jennifer or Jessica, can’t remember) helped me from there and was terrific, however she never acknowledged my previous wait. I know she saw me waiting and could clearly see my visible frustration at having to move. Still she never mentioned it, but her service from there on out was excellent. The manager still never acknowledged me and it was not until after I paid that she simply said “how was the food?”.
I travel to KC a lot and like coming here for Monday night football and all you can eat wings on Mondays.. but I will likely not return after this. I doubt anyone comes here for exceptional service, but you expect to at least be acknowledged as a customer. I rarely leave google reviews but this was horrid. That Rylan girl walks around with an attitude and blatantly ignores customers. If she was overworked fine... simply say something to me and I’d kindly move to another section. If the hostess over sat her section, then great! Say so... but don’t walk around with a snarky face and ignore a...
Read moreIt's the atmosphere? Nah... It's the food! Occasionally that spicy chicken sandwich is exactly what is necessary. The chef did a fantastic job on this one. The fires were crispy and everything fell into place for a delicious meal.
Hooters- to get more stars... pick people (I know women is your thing but being politically correct in this review for some unknown reason) that can work well as servers not just fit the outfit. Our waitress did the job but was not personable or attentive to the normal things like drink levels and wait times. Although it wasn't very long the status updates when more than just a few minutes are required for the beer to pour would be good.
Order what you need to run your restaurant. If you aren't going to have it on tap for some reason put a little piece of tape over it on the menu. But let's face it, unless it is southern Italian black truffles or some hard to catch Amazonian fish you should be able to keep it in stock and order ahead of time to ensure you have the items on the menu.
Speaking of those beers... branch out a little. There is this new thing called "Craft Beer"! Yes, I know many are claiming that it is just a fad and it will never last. However, while this option does exist I suggest adding at least a few to your taps. And they make other flavors other than IPA's! I can only imagine that some of your clientele that enjoys the nice and flavorful food that you provide would also like flavorful food to go with it!
That said I would like to know what Hooters is going for? Family restaurant? Sports Bar? Risque Experience? All of which have their place... And I understand that you have to attempt a delicate balance for these. I have loved hooters for a long time. And your restaurant too. So that is why you get a review like the one above. Help us keep you in business by taking our feedback and inciting a change to get more business into your establishment.
Oh... your WiFi allowed connection but then said there was no internet. I know this is a grand expense for your company to provide free WiFi to your customers. And I applaud you for almost...
Read moreI know that Hooters has been on the downward slide for a while now, but I was bored and hungry so I figured a beer and some bar food would be the ticket.
Walked into the restaurant after seeing the parking lot less than half full tonight, Thursday at 1930ish, and stood at the hostess' area for several minutes before even seeing a staff member. Got seated by another waitress and a few moments later my waitress "Maya" came by. My expectations were minimal, but this poor thing had the personality of a piece of wet cardboard. Ordered a beer. Watched the bartender pour the beer and it sat on the counter for probably 5 minutes before my waitress brought it over.
Ordered Tex Mex nachos and 6 naked wings. Food took while to come out despite probably 15 customers in the restaurant. The nachos were lackluster (when compared to other stores in the franchise) and the wings were a joke. Literally a bite of meat on each one... $11.75 for six bites of chicken.
The wet piece of cardboard made a single table touch with expected lack of enthusiasm despite the restaurant being a ghost town. I did notice that the waitresses (3 that I could see) literally disappeared from the restaurant floor during my entire visit. I found that odd. Extra duties knitting hats in the back of the house?
The bartender and a black waitress were actually on point. The bartender took care of 80% of the customers in the restaurant (seated at the bar) and the other gal actually smiled and greeted several others as they came in the door.
This outing concreted my decision to be done with Hooters as a whole. It's a shadow of what it used to be. Do I expect flirtation? No. Do I expect a modicum of friendly service? Yes. $37 for nachos, 6 pitiful wings, and a...
