This place consistently has some of the worst service I've ever had. We were in town for work and ate there 4 nights, every night was the same. Wasn't ever very busy but we could not get service. One night we (3 men) sat for about 15 minutes waiting and watched a table of women come in and get served immediately by the guy who always wears a vest. When he walked away from the women and by us I asked if we could get service and he said he would have to come back to us. He was clearly two busy helping the females. He never came back. I finally got help from a waitress who was walking by our table and was not assigned to our section. Anytime we needed anything I had to flag her down. The vest guy only came back to bring us our check. The next day I sat for 15 minutes before I could get anyone to help me, again it was not busy at all. After 20 minutes I finally got a drink and asked for a menu. No one came back to even take my order until I was there for over a half hour. It was then I had to ask for chips, which they bring to everybody. I noted again that the vest guy was there and appeared to have no clue about what was going on with his patrons. I was always respectful and very thankful to the waitresses who did help. When the food finally did come it was pretty good, and the chips they bring are very addicting. I believe the management needs lessons in customer service.
Unfortunately we are stuck staying in this area and there is not a lot of options in...
Read moreBustling and busy, they serve very homestyle food here, reasonably priced. It is an older crowd that is the mainstay but that means that it's just a good time, not rowdy.
FOOD I LIKED: Angel Hair Pasta (my fave) Pot Pie Steak Frites Beef Tenderloin Medallions
FOODS THAT WERE ON THE LINE: Mealoaf: I liked the mash potatoes but the meatloaf was overcooked Maltby's Chili: Reminded me of Wendy's, not hearty & pricey Chicken Wings: $$, unsure if worth it
FOOD I DIDN'T LIKE: Poki bowl: Did not seem like it was made with sushi grade salmon, didn't feel good after eating it Soups: Expensive & just ok Pork chop: Most expensive and sadly over cooked Calamari: Small squid & greasy
PRO: FREE Appetizers of pizza & homemade chips (addictive) Menu is wide and vast, there is something for everyone and it's a generous portion. If you're staying at the hotel, you can charge it to the room. Better yet, make sure that if you are a loyalty customer of Marriott (Bonvoy) so that you are earning points on your meal.
CON: Parking, though free is usually underground Can get busy here Older crowd (65+)
SUMMARY: I LOVE that it's run by a family - you can see and taste the care and love they have in their food but sometimes it's a hit or miss, depending on what you get. I'll be trying to update as I try more...

The kitchen here is AWESOME!!! I have literally never had a bad meal here. Let's get into a few things we've tried:
French onion soup - by far the best I've ever had, anywhere. There is a very generous layer of cheese at the top, perfectly cooked onions and it is always served at the perfect temperature.
Steak frites - beautifully cooked steak. Very tender and juicy.
Cheeseburger - always fresh, very juicy and cooked to perfection.
Meatloaf - very soft, tender and super flavorful.
Fish and chips - classic recipe and the fish was perfectly cooked (soft, not rubbery).
French dip - always fresh and I love the horseradish they serve it with.
And to top it off, they serve complimentary homemade potato chips, which alone make this place worth checking out. The outdoor seating is beautiful, with nice garden views and plenty of heaters for everyone to stay warm. They have outdoor seating in the front, facing El Camino AND in the back, if you go through the indoor dining area.
During these difficult times, they are as short staffed as everyone else, yet the service here is always top notch. Our server is usually Yolanda, and she is as sharp as...
