Ron Jon’s isn’t a store—it’s a lifestyle cult disguised as a retail space. You don’t shop here. You enter, lose your sense of time and purpose, and emerge 45 minutes later clutching a $38 t-shirt, a surfboard-shaped air freshener, and a vague feeling that you just joined something... and you’re okay with that.
It’s got everything. Literally. You want flip-flops, snorkels, beach towels, bodyboards, coconut-scented regret? It’s here. Want a hoodie that says Ron Jon in four different fonts and eight different neon colors? Brother, they’ve got a whole wall for that. You can outfit an entire extended family in matching branded gear and still have enough left over for novelty shot glasses and a coffee mug shaped like a tiki head.
And look, I know it’s a tourist trap. I knew it going in. But somehow, they still got me. It's like they’ve weaponized FOMO. I walked in thinking I’d browse. I walked out $122 lighter and feeling oddly patriotic—like I had just invested in the American Dream, but with SPF and embroidery.
The only reason it’s not five stars? The prices. Oof. You’re not just paying for a shirt—you’re paying for the idea of Ron Jon, the myth of Ron Jon, the surfing ghost of Ron Jon past. That sticker? That’s $6. And don’t touch the cooler unless you’ve got a small loan and no emotional attachments.
Still, four stars, because honestly? It’s fun. It’s bright. It’s a fever dream of Florida beach culture and bold capitalism. You’ll leave sunburned, broke, and inexplicably proud of your haul.
Ron Jon: because nothing says “vacation” like realizing you just paid $40 for a tank top you’ll only wear near water and under very...
Read moreI've got to say that I am VERY impressed with Eric Post, the Assistant Manager for Ron Jon's surf shop in Panama City Beach! Long story here. I bought an American Flag tag frame last summer (2020) there when the family and I went on vacation. If I had put it on my truck then, it would have covered up my 2020 tag sticker (that's illegal here in Georgia) so I waited until the new sticker came in January to put the frame on so I could place the tag sticker where it could be seen. After two weeks, the 'wrap' on the metal frame bubbled pretty badly and started falling of. I sent an email to RJ's just to see if there was anything I could do as far as replacing it knowing it was very doubtful. Eric replied to me very quickly and he was genuinely interested in trying to help me out. He said they took those tags off the shelf because they had issues with it and asked if I still had the receipt which I actually thought I might but never could find it so I just figured I was done and just moved on. Eric emailed me back after almost a week to see where I was on the receipt and I just told him I couldn't find it and didn't want to bother him anymore about it. Later, he sent me a picture of a new batch of frames which was identical to the one I have and offered to send that to me or get a store credit. I took the frame. Unbelievable customer service!! The way it should be! Thanks for your time and effort on this Eric. I've always been a 'Ron Jon' fan and this is just...
