I signed up for the one hour glass art class. The concept is great and they provided excellent instructions and guidance throughout. I was happy with my finished work and it was convenient to be able to pick up the epoxied project the next day. The options for standard templates were good and they offered the option of customizing either the templates or creating your own unique design. The tools and glass selections were great and the layout of the studio allowed for easy movement. The only reason I didnât give this review 5 stars is due to the length of the session. Half of the allotted time was instruction (very helpful) then 30 minutes to create your project. This caused quite a bit of anxiety especially having never done this before. The rushed process was also annoying because of the cost of the class. Maybe some ideas for improvement is to offer a beginner session with considerably more time so that newbies could truly enjoy the whole experience. If I were to do this again, I would know what to do and could start the project immediately.
Follow up to the review response. First, I AM Christie- not her friend. Second and more importantly, how about you read the full review then take some time to let the words soak in. My review CLEARLY stated many positives about your business and the concept. I suggested a small improvement so that the experience could be more enjoyable for newbies at the price point. Iâm taking away a start because of your defensive attitude and Iâm also bringing up the barking orders from Vicky G (owner) yelling at us that we were WAY past the allowed time and we needed to get out. I will actually never recommend this business simply because of the hostility from Vicky G. Go check...
Read moreI had such a good experience at this place! We had several people in our glass on 4th of July who claimed to have no artistic ability, yet with the patient guidance of our instructors they made beautiful artistic charcuterie boards. I really appreciated that there was a default size and type of board for the minimum package price, but they had several options to upgrade. That was great because once you get there and see the other boards you might immediately fall in love with a wood grain or color and want to upgrade. That's what happened to me. I found a huge board (maybe 2ft long!) that was shaped like a giant butcher's meat cleaver. I liked the base model a lot, but when I saw that one I had to have it. The instructors were so kind and professional during this new experience for us. They had well-thought-out instructions and knew when to pause for questions, were knowledgeable in the subject and anticipated a lot of the obstacles we would encounter. This all made it easy to create something wonderful and inspire pride in even the least-confident artist. For the experience and product I got, I definitely feel that the price is proportionate. This is a fun experience where I got something useful, functional, and beautiful to bring home to Houston. I'll have great memories and that's worth it. They have an option to ship your art to you after the resin has cured, for those of us who are in PCB as tourists. If you want to hold this off until your last day in town, they'll ship your...
Read moreThe concept is great but the experience was not. 1 hour isnât enough time to create an art project from scratch using glass when youâve never done it before and the time constraint was so stressful as we were reminded several times that our time was dwindling. The first reminder that there was only 30 minutes left came 1/2 hour into our hour, after receiving instructions, picking out our background, selecting our project and then getting the corresponding glass colors. 30 minutes to create it!?! We were reminded in another 15 minutes, then at the 1 hour mark, we were told we had met the time allotted for our class and that they would give us an extra 15 minutes to finish. As we were finishing up, we were very sternly told âladies weâve already given you 15 minutes past your 1 hour class as a courtesy and now itâs time to go. Really? We were so stressed from start to finish and afterwards. I wouldnât go back unless the time allotted was much more realistic, as the experience should be just as enjoyable - if not more - than the...
