Parlor Doughnuts is a must try! *It’s not a Donut, it’s an Experience!
I wish we had one of these back in Louisiana. My home town probably has a good 20+ doughnut shops and nothing comes close to these. These are like some over the top gourmet doughnuts.
I wanted to try them, because typically I’m more of plain donut guy, glazed, chocolate, caramel. But I couldn’t pass up the chance to try these!
My girlfriend is more of plain glazed person as well but even she tried them and loved them.
Listen people these are not your everyday doughnut, as soon as I cut into the churro one, I said these are light, airy, flakey almost like it’s a croissant turned into a luxury doughnut! -Don’t think of it as a doughnut it’s an experience, these made me think of those old Food Network The Best Thing I Ever Ate episodes. People would have something like a cupcake, cookie, other pastries turned into these creative masterpieces.
•The Service score is a 4, so that balanced out for me, the girl at the register probably shouldn’t be dealing directly with the public. She was rude, she just doesn’t seem friendly or approachable, she worn a bonnet which didn’t look professional, never smiled, talked lowly and seemed annoyed with any question. With such a unique product customers will ask questions about flavors etc. •Listen I work in the service industry, I understand bad days, at my current job as a card dealer I deal with drunk and angry guests all the time, if I can smile and try to make sure they still have memorable customer service so can she. And I can also say this from a food service point of view because I was a cook and then Sous Chef for years. Luckily the guys filling the orders, both appear to be the polar opposite of her and they welcome guests with greetings and smiles, thank them for their business and even encourage a return visit. They’d get an A+ while the young...
Read moreUnfortunately I have experienced poor enough customer service to make me not want to spend another penny regardless of how good the doughnuts are😞. Everytime I’ve been here the lady behind the counter seems stressed and unfriendly, rushing customers regardless of the line status or not. While this is a little off putting for a “vacation town”, It’s not my place to judge her… we all go through stuff. Last time I was in there a customer 2 before me left upset and left her order there unpaid. While I was ordering, her husband came in and started yelling at the angry looking lady about the treatment of his wife. I made a few rude comments to him on my way out about his behavior. Today as I came in to yet another time of them not having dog donuts, I simply asked if they actually made this item or if it was only a peak season thing. She told me rudely that they did and this was followed by an uncomfortable silence and stare as I tried to ask more questions about how I could get them next time. Honestly if I had been given a “no” I would have giggled and said “maybe it’s time to update the menu! Oh well” but she literally made it awkward and uncomfortable. Then I asked about a coffee I had seen on their website that’s not on the menu at the location and she didn’t even try to brainstorm what I was asking for, nor wanted to see what I was talking about. She didn’t offer me any other options and was basically like “do you want coffee or not” I was taken aback that she just simply shut me down and stared… again… Normally I would somehow blame myself and say that I’m just being dramatic before coffee. But she has never made this wonderful donut place a happy place to walk into. I’ve seen others upset with her annoyed and rude responses. Donuts are good but I’d rather spend my money some place that allows me to actually enjoy...
Read moreWhat a disaster. I wish I could repeat my decision this morning and choose somewhere else to eat. If you’re reading this, heed my warning and AVOID this place unless you like long lines, rude people, lying “managers”, being hung up on multiple times and incorrectly advertised overpriced food. Shall I go on?
We drove up and the parking lot was full and the drive thru line was wrapped around the building. We decided to stick with the drivehtru line - what a mistake. It took us over an hour to make it from the front of the building to leaving with our food.
After 45 minutes in line, I called the store to see what the issue was. A lady answered the phone and said they were running behind on drink orders and that was what was backing them up. I asked for her name and she hung up on me.
I called back again and another girl answered the phone and I asked for the manager. The girl asked who I had talked to because “there are multiple managers” and when I asked for the female managers name, she hung up the phone on me again.
When I get to the drive thru, I ask for the manager. I man comes up, says he’s the only manager (Idas). I explained that someone on the phone was impersonating him. He said 5 people had called out today and they were having staffing troubles. I get that - but the rude attitudes and hanging up on customers because you’ve been lying is not ok. I recorded the conversation (including being hung up on) and I’m happy to share with corporate.
The food was not worth waiting over an hour. $8 for a piece of white bread you get at dollar general and the thinnest layer of avacado and no everything but the bagel seasoning is a scam.
