Upon arriving to the hotel, the ambiance is very tasteful. There is a very nice lobby and the store that sells various ski apparel and snacks is open 24 hours. The rooms are not modernized or luxurious in any way but its roomy and the bed is from the most comfortable I have felt. Sleep quality gets five stars for that. I only stayed for 1 single night so I cant comment on the spa and fitness center, but because my room faced the pool area, i can say that it really looks nice. My first issue that I had with the hotel was the fact that there is only one shuttle going back and forth to Park City Village and Deer Valley. This leads to very long waits both in the hotel to the ski area, and more importantly, it leaves you waiting at the ski area freezing cold to get back to the hotel. Furthermore, there is a set schedule for the shuttle on the half hour which is far from accurate. While waiting for the shuttle to get back to the hotel after a full day of skiing, several shuttles from other local hotels came and went multiple times. Many people waiting for the Park City Hotel just ended up cramming onto the city's public bus.
I personally also had an absolutely disastrous episode at the hotel. As i arrived the evening prior to my day at 1am, I requested late checkout so I can get out with a shower after my day os skiing. They granted me a 4pm checkout based on my Bonvoy platinum, status. After waiting for the shuttle for 25 minutes to get back to the hotel, I still had arrived before 4pm. Upon going upstairs to the room, my room key did not work. I went down to the front desk where Adam, the manager came out, and advised me that all my belongings were packed up and my room was cleared and prepared for the next guest and i would not be able to back upstairs and take a shower. They also said that they attempted to call me numerous times. Upon review, they did call me once on my HOUSE PHONE for some reason! They gave me my bags where everything was just thrown in as if it were garbage. They apologized as they had not seen the note for my late checkout and offered to allow me to use the showers in the fitness room. That evening I did notice that my glasses and toiletry bag was not in the bag that they packed up for me. After calling the hotel, they did advise that they still had it and arranged...
Read moreI’ve stayed at Hotel Park City before — during ski season — and genuinely enjoyed my prior visit, which makes this most recent stay all the more disappointing. As a Titanium Elite member who booked two rooms, I expected the consistent service and recognition that Marriott advertises across its brands, including Autograph Collection. Unfortunately, several aspects fell far short:
Elite breakfast benefit was denied at check-in, with staff (misleadingly or incorrectly) stating it didn’t apply “off season” because they're a franchise property. That’s simply not how Bonvoy works — Autograph Collection properties are obligated to honor benefits year-round. We were too tired to argue.
Late checkout was initially refused, and only after some back and forth was it extended to 1 PM — still short of the 4 PM benefit that is advertised.
No upgrade was offered or even discussed, despite availability showing online at check-in. Normally wouldn't care but after other service shortcomings, this becomes a more obvious complaint.
Room service breakfast was very underwhelming: the egg dishes were rubbery, French toast was mediocre, and even the sourdough toast ordered as a side was a disappointing store bought variety. The pancake was ok but forgettable. Not the quality you would expect from a property that advertises a premium food experience.
That said, there are positives: the rooms were clean, the property itself is attractive, and the spa and amenities are very good (though not necessarily best-in-class for the Park City area).
This stay was a sharp contrast to my previous positive visit and maybe reflects an unfortunate decline in service consistency and staff training. The Autograph Collection is supposed to blend independent charm with Marriott standards — to me, it felt like the property seems to want the Marriott affiliation without consistently honoring its obligations.
For travelers considering Park City:
If you want a property that honors Marriott elite benefits reliably, I’ve had consistently excellent experiences at St. Regis Deer Valley.
If you’re open to trying non-Marriott options, both Pendry Park City and Waldorf Astoria Park City are excellent alternatives and may offer a better luxury...
Read moreI've never stayed here before but wanted to check out the experience. I had reservations to stay here booked for the executive suite. I called to attempt to upgrade to the cottage Deluxe executive room. The woman that assisted me was very nice and professional but informed me that even though other rooms were available my reservation is locked In after 24 hrs of booking and I was never able to upgrade my room for a better experience. Since I was not able to get a larger room, my companion and I had to share a bed. the snoring kept me awake all night. The parking is tight, not much room to turn around. Construction could be heard from behind the hotel, it looked like an ongoing project. The stake restaurant was very busy, wonderful service but the ahi tuna had me up the next night vomiting for 4 hours. The hotel itself was BEAUTIFUL and met all our needs but the pictures of the pool area leave you daydreaming of peace and privacy while in all actuality its filled with children jumping in and out of the pool and hot tub splashing you and dragging leaves and such in. Also the picture doesn't show you that the restaurant sits right to the side of the pool where all of the outside diners can watch you swim and lay out. The decorations around the hotel inside and out are stunning. None of the decks have privacy. You could literally reach out and touch your neighbor on their deck. The room temperature never got to where we set the AC leaving us too hot. The shower fixtures were put in backward in our room (H=cold C= hot) we learned this the hard way instead of being informed. The towels in the room are crisp, and by crisp I mean stiff. I'm glad I didn't stay the week or the toilet paper would have left me limping (definitely doesn't cater to female guests). I loved the access to TV streaming services. The spa is 100% the reason I would return or recommend this hotel, the staff are well trained and experienced. Overall, I gave 3 stars for a general good experience, I might return but this hotel is a good experience if you plan on golfing or doing an activity, not so good for privacy and only somewhat good...
