I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn in Peoria, IL, and unfortunately, it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that the hotel had not met basic cleanliness standards, which was extremely frustrating.
The room itself was in poor condition, with visible signs of neglect. There was blood on the wall, which was unsettling, and a used face mask was left on the shelf. These are issues that should never be overlooked. Additionally, the floor and walls were dirty, which made the overall environment feel unclean and uncomfortable.
Even more surprising was the discovery of a plunger placed right by the ice machine. This just felt unprofessional and unhygienic. To make matters worse, the hot water for the morning shower was barely lukewarm, which was a huge letdown, especially when you expect basic amenities to work properly.
Lastly, storing coffee in the bathroom was a strange choice and a clear sign that the attention to detail was lacking throughout the property.
On top of all these issues, the staff was unhelpful and, frankly, rude. Instead of addressing my concerns, they seemed uninterested in making the situation right by coming up with numerous excuses. This left a bad impression and further dampened my stay.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this Hampton Inn, and I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a clean and welcoming place to stay. It's unfortunate because this hotel has potential, but it clearly needs serious improvements in both cleanliness and...
Read moreFirst of all my 2 small children and I had to wait to check in for at least 10 minutes because no one was at the front desk. We were up in our King Suite for not more than 15 minutes and my babies went to look out the window and right below this particular window is the air conditioner/ heat. ( yes 1 unit for king suite and no fan) my 20 month old leaned against it to look out and the whole front of this unit fell off....come to find out they had it ducked taped on all sides to try to keep it up. When we tried to put it back it was like it was pinching a wire and the air conditioning wouldn't work (this was 09/18/21, a hot day for September) everytime we took the front part off again the air would start working. So basically we had to leave it off to get air in our room. Did not want to deal with notifying the hotel( they clearly already knew because of the duct tape) and getting blamed for breaking it and didn't have time that day to sit around and wait for them to fix it. The pull out couch bed was the most uncomfortable thing I've ever and on and when I pulled it out it had dirty sheets on it. Our room had no extra pillows or blankets and you cannot close the drain in the tub to take a bath. Their breakfast was nothing spectacular my kids wouldn't even eat the waffles. They also charged my card an extra 40$. I will definitely never stay there again and would...
Read moreThis hotel did not represent the standards of other Hampton Inn’s I’ve stayed at. The hotel in general was outdated, as are the rooms. Our room had cracked peeling paint and tiles that were poorly repaired and just slapped back on the bathroom wall. The tub stopped kept popping back open during my children’s bath. The refrigerator in the room just sits on the floor under the desk. I asked for our room to be cleaned and it never was. Possibly because the employee j asked was getting a back massage from another employee in the lobby. The waffle makers were glitchy and hard to use and the hot food was standard, sub-par basics. One employee complained about being underpaid and the hotel being understaffed. I left a message for the manager, Tiffany slaw wrap days before our arrival and never received a call back. The complimentary cookies Friday night seemed like they had been out for days and there were no other cookies out the remainder of our stay. Not a big deal but just another thing that is supposed to be offered...
