My husband and I stopped here for dinner. After being seated, we waited 35 minutes before a server came to our table. Several people who came in after us, received their drinks, and had their orders taken, as we waited patiently. The temperature of the restaurant was freezing cold. I never got warm enough to take my winter jacket off. I was literally shivering the entire time. I could tell the other patrons were cold too. There was an annoying light at our table, that must of had a 250 watt brillant white light bulb in the fixture. Every light in the restaurant had a different shade of white bulb the fixtures. Bright white, Sun light, White light. Definitely, a poor lightly option for a dinner restaurant. After our server finally arrived, with no appology for the wait time, she took our order, then left, leaving our menus laying on the table in front of us. We ordered a deep dish pizza. A different server tried to deliver someone else's food to our table on 2 separate occasions. When our pizza finally came out, it was placed on the table, with no plates, no silverware, and no napkins. After a bit, she came back to our table with our plates. Before I could ask for silverware she was gone again. I had to track down another server to ask to silverware. When that server came back she only brought 1 packet of silverware, so we had to share, so that we could eat before our food got any colder. The server never came back to check on us or refill drinks. After finally getting our bill and paying, our dirty dishes and menus were still sitting on the table. This was not my first time visiting this restaurant, but it will definitely be the last. I have never had a more horrible experience at a restaurant in my life . It is clear that this was not just an " off night". This restaurant is poorly managed to...
Read moreWe went in last night Dec 16 2023 to try the new place (been to Old Chicago numerous times never had an issue. ) We got seated quickly but it went down hill from there. We sat for 15 minutes before anyone came for a drink order( they weren't busy at all) ordered water with lemon while looking at the menu, waitress brought the water without lemon and no straws she then asked if we would like straws and we said yes please, another 15-20 minutes and no straws so I got up and got them myself and when she did show up with them she was surprised we already had them. Ordered an appetizer and our main menu item's. Appetizer was delivered barely before dinner item's, my meal was correct but my Wife ordered a pepperoni and mushroom calzone but received a pepperoni and sausage calzone, she began to pick out the sausage but it was packed with sausage. We informed waitress but told her we didn't want to wait again for the correct calzone. We asked for the manager but he told waitress he couldn't come then and to just tell us the meal was on the restaurant so we left. The people behind us who were there before us got their meal while we were waiting for our straws and their order was incorrect as well but they waited for the correct order. After hearing our issues as well they turned to us and said they would not be back and we replied we won't either. Unless they get it together quickly they...
Read moreI really wanted to like this restaurant and we are always hoping the next restaurant we try is “the one”. Grand Prairie Pizza and Tavern fell a little short. When we first arrived, you could almost immediately tell the hostess stand was a little hectic and no one really acknowledged us for a couple of minutes honestly. No big deal, we get it. Restaurants are busy, servers are underpaid, over worked, and understaffed. We get seated and you could tell the waitress was a stressed and rushing around. We kind of forgot we ordered other drinks besides water because it took awhile to get those out to us. We ordered our food—spinach artichoke dip and a Hawaiian thin crust. This also took awhile to come out. Again not a huge deal but the restaurant wasn’t THAT busy to be taking as long as things were. The dip was good but the choice of veggies and Texas toast was interesting. The dip comes in a fairly large portion and you get 2 of each veggie (carrot stick, broccoli, celery, and cucumber) and the bread served with it seemed very random. The dip has potential; the veggies and bread could use a switch up because they did not compliment the dip at all. Our pizza was good but not anything overly amazing. Easily forgettable. Like I said we were hoping this was the next best thing but it didn’t quite hit the mark. And it was pretty pricey for what was served. Overall I wish this...
