I'm being extremely fair and kind in giving this place a 2, when I think most people have or would give them a 1 star with similar experiences - which I'm glad I read I'm not the only one. I actually have NO IDEA how their rating isn't extremely low. The only reason I give them 2 stars instead of 1 is because I do feel that things were organized and a bit neat and perhaps clean, so that is always appreciated. Why they won't ever deserve more than 2 is the following:

1. As others who have noted, they are extremely rude. The moment you step in the door they immediately shout at you to use hand sanitizer and stare at you while you do it almost like they are just annoyed you walked into the store at all.
2. While this may be somewhat understandable, they automatically assume everyone that enters is a thief and will just stare at you the entire time and follow wherever you walk and watch what you do. What a welcome feeling! [Sarcasm]
3. I actually happen to understand the language that they were speaking and either they wanted us to hear it or they were ignorant in assuming we would not understand. After only a few minutes of walking around, one of the grumpy old women angrily mutters to the other that we're not here to spend any money and only to waste their time by looking around. At the point that I'm writing this I don't know why I'm not just giving them 1 star, honestly. This in itself was incredibly rude and inappropriate. Also because we actually DID buy something in spite of this to shut them up even though we should have just left right then and there. Or maybe should have shocked them with a response. But they really aren't worth any of my time to have to stoop so low. Incredibly disgusting experience all together.
4. They definitely sell bootlegs and knock offs that are 10x overpriced. No joke. There are items you can buy online for less than $1 that they try to sell for $6-$8+.
5. They're definitely doing something shady with tax evasion as they will try and ask you to pay for things in cash, probably so they won't have to report it. I'd never come back to this place with such terrible people running the store. Besides, there is no justification for selling things 10x their price that as some people have already mentioned, are just being resold from Daiso stores and others that you can buy online for much, much...

I’ve been to this store multiple times over the years before and after location change mainly because this is the only sanrio based store in the city. Every single time i enter this store eyes turn and someone immediately starts following me not even 10 steps in. I’ve seen many NorthEast asian & white people enter the store and not get treated like this. Everything is locked up so there’s literally no reason to be following me around even if you were suspicious of stealing. I walked out today a few mins ago, i’m actually so tired of this store treating me and other non black people like this. There’s one time a few years ago i seen a hiring sign in the window, i love everything sanrio so i go in and ask the only lady in the store “Hi are you guys hiring?” she looked me up and down and for a split second had a look of disgust on her face but masked it very quickly and shakily said “no no we aren’t.” Which was a lie😭. Today a worker was giving me the death stare and we deadass had a staring contest because i was like why is this girl staring at me when im minding my business admiring the merchandise with my boyfriend? I point it out to my bf and when he looks back she does too. Whatever she continues to stare and follow us. Every step we took she did as well. An older worker also joined in and started following us both around. The customer service is terrible, no greeting even when there’s two workers keeping watch by the door. Its a place? overpriced as hell but that’s expected. It was rlly generic stuff thrown together on shelves but not a lot of selection at all. You will not find whatever you are looking for if you already have something in mind. No manga, no legit figures (they got Pop figures though of course lol). Very very little plushies, posters, gundam, keychains, whatever else. Very sad this is the only asian pop culture specialty store in philly. Might as well just go to the two shelves for weebs at barns and nobles, at least you’ll be able to look at manga after the 4 minutes u spend looking at the 12 items. Only giving it two stars instead of one because they had a minifridge with a few drinks, including ooi otchya and pokari sweat. Went to at least look at miku figurines (they had one sudo-figurine in a box), left with a bottle of pokari. so...
