📍 Tea-Do - Philadelphia, PA ⭐️⭐️⭐️½

Drinks:

Taro Milk Bubble Tea (70% sweet) – A solid taro milk tea—better than average, but not quite on the level of the best ones I’ve had. – Still pretty sweet at 70%; I probably would have preferred it at 50%. – The boba was cooked well, though I personally would have liked them to be slightly firmer.

Tiramisu Milk Bubble Tea (70% sweet) – A unique flavor with a strong coffee base and some subtle additional notes. – Also on the sweeter side—50% sweet would have been a better choice.

My boyfriend, Jonathan, and I stopped by after our dinner at Chubby Nori because we can never resist boba. He used to come here when he lived in the area, so we wanted to check it out together.

Tea Do has a large selection of flavors and is a solid spot for bubble tea, but it leans on the sweeter side. We would have preferred our drinks with even less sweetness, but overall, they were enjoyable. If you’re in the area, it’s worth stopping by to try one of their many unique flavors.

My friend recommended this place to me about six months ago. I walked inside with her and realized how crowded the place was, which was obviously good since everyone was reaching to get their hands onto the beloved Teado.

All of the workers at Teado are very kind and here to help, and the environment is widely open to many different cultures. The smoothies and drinks are all incredible as well, my favorites are the watermelon smoothie (with lychee) and a cool blue raspberry smoothie with extra lychee.

The shop itself is very hip and is a great place to bring friends to and all food is made very quickly. The only thing that I would love is if they upgraded to a bigger shop for more seating, as at certain times of the day, it's very hard to fit everyone in the shop. Aside from that, I would recommend for everyone to go to Teado if they're visiting Philly- it's a very convenient 5 minute walk from Jefferson Station. I can't wait to come back, and can't imagine a trip downtown without one of their drinks in my hand...

Absolutely amazing selection of teas! I've been to a couple of the competitors around the area and the selection of competitors just doesn't compare to the selection that Tea Do offers. They have all of the classics as well as plenty of unique and interesting offerings as well.

Note that adding tapioca to a drink is their DEFAULT, though. If you DO NOT want tapioca in your drink, you MUST specify that when ordering! This is the opposite of what I have encountered in the past, so I believe that it is worth noting. The fact that they did not ask about the tapioca/toppings is the only reason I'm giving four stars rather than five, because I feel as though that part of drink customization is important to ask rather than assume in this sort of establishment.

Here's what I (and friends I've been with) have ordered before, and I've never been displeased: Thai Milk Tea Sakura...

Stopped by for tea after having dinner in Chinatown. It was crowded, but the tables were clearing quickly. Ordered 2 Boba Milk teas with half sugar and ice. Although it was crowded, drinks were ready within 10 minutes and made just right. The half sugar had the right amount of sugar as it still was plenty sweet without all the extra sugar. Both drinks tasted great; one was Matcha and the other had Jasmine. I preferred the Matcha, but that's just a personal preference. They also have small bites such as onigiri, gyudon, karaage, takoyaki, but I just finished having dinner. They do have tabletop games you can play while having a tea. Nice place to relax and enjoy some of their various teas.

This is a cozy little spot. With Covid and all the restrictions set up for indoor dining it's hard to say how that experience would be. It appears to get very crowded quickly. When we got online there's was no one behind us and then it seemed like in less than a few minute's the line was out the door and down the steps. I ordered the Special Green tea they had( the Farmers love and Peach Patch, they were so delicious and not overwhelming with sweetness! The service was great and they try to get you in and out as quickly as the order's are ready. I will go back! They appeared to be taking mostly Credit cards for orders. Go and enjoy 😉
