Studio 51 Extended Stay Hotel — Hotel in Phoenix

Do not stay at this hotel. Staff are unprofessional at best and outright thieves at worst.

I had an absolutely insane experience during my second night here. On February 2, 2025, at 4:30 AM, I was woken up by a white woman INSIDE my room, yelling at me. Outside the door stood a casually dressed African-American man, possibly working as security. She falsely accused me of squatting and demanded I leave immediately, claiming the police were on their way.

This was a clear mistake—had she bothered to check the notes from the previous desk clerk, she would have known I had changed rooms earlier that day. Despite my explanation, she refused to listen and left. Shortly after, the Phoenix Police Department arrived. I explained the situation to the officers, and they agreed I was in the right before leaving.

Then, I noticed something disturbing—my wallet was missing from the table in my room. I immediately called the police, and one of the officers who had responded earlier returned. I told him the only logical explanation: the woman who barged into my room, or her so-called security accomplice, had stolen my wallet. The officer investigated, but unfortunately, my wallet was never recovered.

This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I strongly warn anyone considering this place to stay elsewhere—unless you want to risk being harassed, falsely accused, and possibly robbed by the very staff meant...

The rooms look NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES THEY POSTED!!!!! All I can say is HORRIBLE!! Scary!!! Did not feel safe at ALL! Went to check in and they didn't even have the room ready. They said come back in 30mins “we have to clean the room”. aaannnddd that was a LIE!!!!!!

The floors were dirty, vapes and trash under beds! Bathrooms were horrible and dirty! Piss on floors, used towels, toothpaste and peoples belongings, no toilet paper, dead ROACHES, stains all over the walls. Im sure there’s bed bugs! I was too scared to touch or even look!!!!!!!! Beds had stains, no pillow cases, blankets have stains, looks like they literally just flipped the blankets inside out, Smelled dirty, BLOOD on window and curtains.😳😱 Just grosss!!!! We left so fast!!! didn’t even care about getting about getting a refund, just got the hell up out of there!!! Didnt even het to take photos of the room. Kids and babies were running around, people chillin and drinking in parking lot!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I booked an entire weekend with my family, showed up in the evening, and was told that the property had flooded, and that I was unable to check in. I emailed them immediately, and got no response AT ALL. EVER. I was patient, and gave them time to respond, which they never did. I then contacted Expedia, and apparently, the property never answered them either. So now I am out over $300 and got NOTHING for it. This place has no qualms with stealing your money, and refusing to make anything right. I would NOT recommend taking the risk. Very scammy business practices, and indeed, actually criminal in nature. Book this place at your own risk. If they are willing to screw over a family with two small children during night time hours, they will have no problem screwing you...
