You get what you pay for....if you're a single person who doesn't need cold drinks or internet service.... Pros: The rooms were newly refurnished with wood laminate floors. Living area was clean (except the comforters, see below) No dressers, but a few cubbies, a rod with hangers and dressing space. Nice selection of cable channels Pool area was nice and you could only get in with a key (or so I thought until a nice man let me in with out me even asking him to. How nice of him!) Staff was not necessarily friendly, but assisted with my complaints about extra fees (see below)
Cons: I felt nickel and dimed every step of the way- A mini fridge was $10 extra, adding any extra person, $10 extra (I tried to argue the fact that I'm paying for the same amount for a room with two beds; whether or not you have one or 4 people there,) Internet- $2.99 a day- internet that doesn't even work. Literally. I had to use my IPhone as a hotspot for better internet service. Also, we couldn't just add the daily internet charge to the final bill; we had to pay in cash or separate card swipe, which I found somewhat dodgy. If they have, say, even 25 rooms paying $3 a day for internet service, that's over $2000 month they could be spending on internet services.....and my iPhone hot spot worked better... I don't get it. In conclusion of the rates- Motel 6 advertise as "the cheapest hotel with a pool", but that's only if you want to go on a vacation completely alone without access to internet service or cold drinks.....'cause that's fun! as I said, the rooms were clean, save for the long brown hair I found on my pillow and the cigarette burns on the comforter. I read the other reviews about the cigarette stains, and must mention, our room smelled clean and NOT like smoke. But as a non-bottled blonde with short hair, long brown hairs freak me out.....This was the first time I've ever felt compelled to wear full pajamas and my socks to bed. the drapes looked to be "blackout shades" when we checked in at night....until the next morning when the sun brightly shone in through a wide strip at the bottom of the drapes. My kids were up at 7....and we didn't even need to turn on the light to get ready! Sort of green, if you think about it! also, as others said, there WERE sketchy people wandering around, some with open containers, very skimpy clothes, rooms that looked to have 7-10 people in them (did they get charged extra?!) and it was loud at night. Maybe that's because of the outdoor walkway, but as I type this, there's some sort of Spanish speaking fiesta happening in the room next door to me.....too bad I wasn't invited; sounds like they are having a bueno of a good time! But also, we came during Spring Training and some sort of NASCAR shin-dig, so you'd expect that with these two super non-rowdy types of groups coming to town...'MERICA!
Overall, though I jest, we probably wouldn't stay here again. With young kids, I didn't feel particularly safe, with the crowds of people here and the noise that's definitely not too loud cable or a voracious game of battleship. But if you're looking for a get in and get out place to sleep, with no extras.....check...
Read moreAvoid this place. Many cockroaches within the elevator doorway metal floor panel grooves and within the doorway to my motel room. Food particles visible in doorway to room. Stains on furniture and flooring throughout motel, but most annoyingly within the motel room. Electronic lock on door would not release/unlock most times and I had to keep pushing down on the handle and trying the key card 3 to 5 times to unlock the door most times. On my first attempt to unlock the door, I could not unlock it at all. Perhaps because I had surgery on my broken arm and I had asked the office attendant to write the room number on the second key card so I could give it to a friend and her husband that had cared for me during the first 24 hours (caretakers who dropped me off and were outside in their car) after surgery. In case I had some medical problem in the next 4 days I could Text/call them and they could enter the room if need be. Well, the attendant had asked if only 1 adult (me) was staying in the room and I explained the above information briefly -- perhaps she made the 2 keys invalid so I would only have 1 working key card after having to get it replaced as I had to do that first night (door would not unlock). The next day or two, after dealing with the lock not working well, I had gone to the office and let a second attendant know about the troublesome lock and she just gave excuses and tried to blame it on the key card. I asked if they were going to put in a work order to investigate, and she said they would and then bid me farewell. I then had to ask her if they were really going to look at it since she did not know my room number and she didn't even ask for it. I asked her if she knew the room number and she said she would chat with the other attendant who she had remembered as the person who made my keys twice. I said, "I know the room number and it is ###. Why didn't you ask me?" Ridiculous... Perhaps they got someone to adjust the lock because it had improved on the 3rd night, but no person communicated anything to me. Note that the door did not close flush with the frame, but it did close to where the deadbolt and locking mechanism would work. The security latch screws were loose though and that latch is probably easy to bust open if someone were to push the door open in a forceful manner. No fresh, clean, towels offered to me within the 4 night stay -- perhaps they'd given them to me if I had asked the right person, but I used my own clean towels after a few nights. Fire alarms were set off 3 times during my 4 night stay, where 1 time it had sounded off for many minutes and I had opened the door and I had prepared to leave if it was a real fire. Bed was worn out and very uncomfortable, which gave me back pain that had added to my post-surgery pain. Light switch between the 2 beds did not work well. Shower head was so low that I had to bend my kneck, or stoop a bit, in order to get water flowing onto my head -- bumped into nozzle a few times of course. ...
Read moreThe location was perfect but the guest that you have staying there is nothing but people up too no good. They are up all hours and walking around all the time. Second I was moving from one town to another had my 26' foot uhaul truck and was told that can have it there. First after see how it was when i was there im glad i didnt have my moving truck. Second if i didnt have family around that around what did your company suggest to keep it. Yeah pretty much nothing that lady that checked me was not helpful had an attitude. Not welcoming at all. Right at that moment i should cancelled my reservation but i was tired been moving 2 days already. So i park my uhaul some where else. Came back showered in the smallest bathroom. And had to lower my head because the shower heads are for someone 5ft tall and im 5ft 10 come on.
Next day leave my daughter 16 and son 8 at hotel with my service dog to go get apartment keys and my son left the room. My 16yr old is scared because she doesnt see him and did want to leave room because i took the key and they service dog was go crazy. So she yells for him. Nothing calls me panicking and i couldnt rush over there. So i told her to call his name again. And stand out of the door. He finally comes and she is yelling at him and calls me to let me know. When she is on the phone with me the room phone rings and its the front desk calling about her yelling. Then someone is banging at the door like they are the police. And it's a manager yelling at her about her yelling at her his employee and she tells him I didn't yell at your employee I was yelling at my brother and he was in my daughter's face and then instead of finding out what was going on he told her if I hear another peep from this room you will be getting kicked out and I'm not refunding your money. So then she calls me freaking out and that she no longer wants to stay there because of how they treating her. So I went and got my belongings and my kids. had my kids sleep on the floor in our new apartment without any beds due to the fact that they did not feel safe in that hotel and then I realized that I did not have a bag of mine so I went back up to the to the Hotel and my keys weren't even working for my room so I had to go down to the lobby and I have eyes to the lady in the front and what the situation was she did provide me the GM information and gas relations which I am going to be calling to make a complaint and also I grabbed my belongings and did not...
