This was the worst experience of a hotel that I had ever had. First of all the lady who checked me in was in attentive and all over the place. It is nighttime and I am trying to check in with my family and my bags. I am charged this random amount of $78.26 for my deposit. I asked specifically why it was an autumn amount. I was not given any information regarding a safe fee, I was told that it was a red roof in policy and then I would get my full deposit back.
When I get to the room, the first thing I noticed is is a TV is not working, I pulled back to make sure it was plugged in before I bothered anybody, and in fact, it was not plugged in, but the plug-in was broken and super ghetto. In fact, it was so broken that you could not have your refrigerator, your microwave and your TV plugged in at the same time. So I opted to unplugged the microwave so I could watch TV. There is a missing do not disturb sign, and I noticed that my room was a little bit uncleanly. So I called down to speak to the front desk staff and I am informed that the beds are freshly made however they do not clean the hotel except for Mondays and Thursdays. I asked if there was a Cleaner place and was informed that this was my room option. I went to bed, hoping and praying that the bed was really made fresh.
The next morning I woke up and I looked down beside the bed, and as you could see in the picture, there was a clump of hair, not mine and someone else’s ponytail. I began to look around in the room, and I noticed that underneath my desk was trash and debris from Lord knows when had not been cleaned up after. The common areas were disgusting and their window tracks looked as if there had been buildup for a long time and not been attended to.
Hi decided whatever I survived the night. I’ll never stay here again and my son and I went down to go enjoy the pool much to our surprise. After just a few minutes of swimming someone well threes somebody’s were on the other side of the pool gates smoking marijuana. it was an overpowering smell and we simply could not enjoy the pool. I went to the front and I spoke to them because as you can see, there’s no smoking signs and 100% smoke-free property all over their place and I was informed that there was “nothing they could do about it because it’s legal in the state of Arizona“. This is absolutely untrue being as it is private property and there’s posted no smoking signs everywhere.
I survived and left the hotel and went about my business. To my surprise, the next day I did not receive my full deposit back but $75. It seems that $3.26 is a little amount to be upset about, but it was a culmination of the entire experience. I called the hotel and I spoke to the same woman who refused to help me with the marijuana situation, she informed me that there was a sign posted when I walked in the door. There was a safe fee and I needed to inform her that I did not use the safe. Perhaps there was a sign however, when you arrive late at night with your family who needs to go to bed you do not necessarily see all the signs posted around. In my opinion, it was a responsibility of the woman who checked me in when I specifically asked her why I was receiving an odd amount.
This woman refuses to give deposit back and she gets very snippy with me to which I got a little irritated back. I asked to speak to management and when management answered the phone she said hello this is Elizabeth, later I was informed her name is Isabel. I asked her “are you management?” she replied, “I said I am Elizabeth.” I proceeded to explain the situation and this woman no joke over the phone asked what I suppose is a customer “excuse me, sir can you see the sign? Oh, you can so the woman on the phone it’s her problem, not mine.” This is the most unprofessional I have ever been spoken to by supposed hotel staff. We eventually came to an agreement and I assume I’ll get my $3.26 back.
However, the moral of the story is no one should ever stay at this hotel. It certainly should not be called a red roof Inn plus as there’s nothing...
Read moreI was forced to give 1 star to post but I was unable to give a negative star. Do not stay here, bad neighborhood, drug use and homeless. Calling this place Dirty does not begin to describe this place.||I had booked this place on expidia.com, they were charging $104.00 for each night. The pictures that they use to advertise on all the travel site as well as their own, are not actual photos of their property. They were taken from other Red Roof Inn locations. We came into town around 11 PM for Spring Training and arrived at Red Roof Plus, West Phoenix, expecting to see a clean well maintained hotel. Instead, we pulled into the parking lot where a guy in a truck was parked doing a drug deal and another sitting in his truck next to the entrance smoking a joint.||The front door was locked(because the hotel is in a very bad neighborhood) and a few people were in the lobby(which one of them let me and my family in). When I checked in I was told that I needed to pay a $75.00 deposit. I told the person I already paid for the stay. Which he said,"you already paid for your stay but not the deposit." There was no indication that there would be a deposit required when I booked the stay. Upon receiving the key we went to the elevator which smelled like smoke(this is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel.) ||Once we entered the room, we found that the comforter and sheets were full of stains, some looking like blood and other body fluids. There was also hairs in the bedding that were from someone else. Now I know why after reading some of the other post here in the reviews(they only change the bedding once a week.) I tried to get new sheets three times from the front desk but every set of sheets were stained. The manager agrees that the sheets are stained, "We can't get out all the stains. Our hotel is not for everybody but some people don't mind it." The towels were not any better, the were tattered and worn and the room only had two towels. The toilet was not bolted down properly, every time you sat on it, it would start to fall over to the left. Plus it wasn't sealed around the base. The tub/shower had mold around it and the soup tray was coming off the wall. Did not allow our 3 year old son to take a bath because the tub looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned for quite some time. The room had a bb/pellet from a bb gun/pellet gun stuck in the wall. Cob webs all over the room and I think the smoke alarm wasn't working because it had so much dust on it. The air conditioner had mold and the paint was chipping off the wall above it.||I was supposed to stay here for two days but after not being able to sleep the first night because I was concerned that because of the possible blood stains in the sheets, the room my have had bed bugs. I told the front counter in the morning that I was planning to check out and wanted a full refund, they said the manger wouldn't be in for a few more hours. We went to breakfast around the corner and the manager called me shortly after. They said that they would refund a night back to expidia as that is who I paid and I needed to contact them to get my refund. As of this review expidia nor I have received a refund, I have contacted expidia.com a few times and waited on the phone while they call the hotel to talk to the manager. Expidia stated that they called them but nobody was answering, one of the expidia.com agents said that they actually had someone pick up only to...
Read moreI booked a week-long stay at Red Roof Plus+ West, Phoenix and checked in without any issues on a Saturday. However, on Tuesday, I was unable to access my room because my key had been deactivated. When I approached the front desk, I was informed that this was intentional as I had not signed certain documents regarding non-smoking policies. After signing the documents, I was given a new key and returned to my room.||Upon entering, I noticed that while the bed appeared made and fresh towels were provided, the sheets had not been changed. There were still signs of my previous use, including mild stains on the pillows and a noticeable depression where I had slept, indicating the sheets had only been pulled over rather than replaced. Additionally, the room had not been vacuumed, nor were the TV stand or workspace cleaned.||I brought these concerns to the front desk, where the receptionist explained that the hotel only provides full cleaning, including a sheet change, once a week. I informed her that only the towels had been replaced, not the bedding or cleaning of the room. Initially, she offered excuses but assured me the room would be cleaned the next day. I also requested clean sheets, which I had to collect and change myself.||The following day, I returned from work to find that no cleaning had been done. Once again, I addressed this with the receptionist, who continued to provide excuses. Frustrated, I requested to speak with the manager but was informed she was unavailable. My room was finally cleaned the day after.||When I later met with the manager, Isabel, she approached the situation in an unprofessional and confrontational manner. She explained the hotel's cleaning schedule but did not allow me to fully express my concerns, interrupting me frequently and making unrelated remarks about previous guests. At one point, she claimed the receptionist felt threatened, which I found highly inappropriate. Despite the tension, I remained calm and explained that I was upset about the service, not with the staff member. Isabel eventually admitted to an error on her part, but her attitude remained dismissive throughout the interaction.||Upon checking out on Saturday, I inquired about a package I was expecting. The receptionist confirmed its arrival but stated it was in the manager’s office, and the manager wouldn’t be available until the next day. After some back-and-forth, the manager arrived, but her unprofessional attitude continued, even making an inappropriate comment about my package. At this point, it was clear this environment was not conducive to a positive experience.||Ultimately, I decided to take my business elsewhere. I had initially planned to stay for four weeks while transitioning to a new job in Phoenix but chose to leave early due to the poor service and unprofessional behavior of the staff. I am now staying at a hotel with much better service and a more pleasant environment, free of the drug addicts loitering issues I observed at Red Roof Plus+. ||Until positive changes are made, It should be “Red...
