I’d been following this place on Instagram and heard nothing but good things, so I was really excited to try it out! When we arrived, it was somewhat full—which I took as a good sign that the food would be great.

We ordered tacos de asada, a chicharrón vampiro, and birria. • The asada tacos were really good—flavorful and cooked just right! • The chicharrón vampiro was a bit too greasy for my taste. • The birria was okay, but it lacked flavor and didn’t quite meet my expectations.

Unfortunately, the customer service left a lot to be desired. While we were eating, the girls working there were loudly talking about people, including customers—which was really unprofessional. One of them started mopping the floor while people were still eating, and looked visibly upset when customers walked across the area she just cleaned. Another girl kept staring at me so intensely that my daughter even asked if I knew her—it was uncomfortable and unnecessary.

Overall, the food had some highlights, but the vibe and customer service really took away from the experience. I hope they work on that, because the place...

I came to Phoenix a week ago. When I landed, I googled “best tacos in Phoenix” and Tacos Los Vales was one of the options. Only about 15 minutes from the airport, we decided to check it out. Well, let me put it this way, in one week, I’ve been here three times. I love tacos, I love birria tacos with consomé, and I had the best birria tacos in my life here. The first two times, I got three quesabirria tacos with consomé. My third time, I realized I could order the consomé with carne….when I come back again, I will only order it with carne. I knew I was in for a treat when I walked in and I was the only gringo in a packed restaurant at 11:30 am. I also tried the chicharrón taco with green chile sauce and it was delicious. Was so excited to try this place since a few people I know said it was really good, Me & my 7 yr old daughter went to try it yesterday 06/29/25 on a Sunday about 5pm, walked in & it was packed which to me that's a good thing it means the food is good!!! waited in line about 10 minutes to order, was greeted when it was my turn to order, I asked for the burrito huerfano, with a limonada to drink ordered my daughter the big carne asada quesadilla! & a sprite d botella!!
