I’m writing this review because I really want this location to succeed. I’ve visited this location many times in the past few months and I think it’s time I share my thoughts as I have been noticing the same patterns each time I visit. I’ve been to many Cavas throughout the years in various states and have never experienced such inconsistencies and poor customer service.
I understand that customer service is challenging, as I have experience in that arena. I also believe people should give grace to those workers who are in customer service who might have had a bad day; it happens to everyone. However, it seems to me that every time I go into the Plymouth Meeting Cava location the employee (whoever it may be) is always having a “bad day”, every single time. In addition, there have been multiple times that I have been ignored upon stepping up to the counter due to employees socializing and ignored mid order. I am very kind and lenient with customer service workers, but there is a line between, “things happen” and just plain unprofessionalism and rudeness. In my years of customer service work, I would never think to ignore a customer, especially while the customer is trying to communicate their order.
I also want to highlight that I love the food but depending on who is serving me, I can sometimes get disappointingly small portions for what I am paying. I also need to mention that more often than not the lentils are severely undercooked and feel like hard pebbles.
Like I said, I enjoy Cava and I want this location to succeed. However, love is in the details and small things can add up pretty quickly. I know I can’t be the only one who notices these issues and would appreciate it if they were resolved. I hope management will read this review and actually make changes instead of doing...
Read moreThe food was still good because its Cava but my avocado was black, had very little lettuce and some of the rice was hard. Avocado was green on backside but completely black on the inside. I threw it out. Nobody was in the front for a few minutes until some one in the back said something and then a girl and a guy came to the front. I have a friend that’s worked there and thought he still did but he doesn’t. He told me that it was supposed to be two scoops of everything, that’s impossible. He also told that the employees quality of work depends on who’s running the shift so your food quality, time in line, experience etc can come down to who is running the shift that night. If you have kids who’ve just left HS running a store at night, I believe this is inevitable. He said he quit because he was working the front, was trained how to be a grill cook too. Now they had him working the front, and also helping out in the back when need be. He asked for a small raise and they said they would give it to him but never did. He got a job opportunity that required less work and paid more so he left. I’ve heard there’s people who’ve been promised positions in there for a while now, while never being promoted. Either just waiting around, or they hire a brand new person to fill that spot when you have someone already working there fully capable. Most Cavas are great places but a couple I’ve been to in PA have let me...
Read moreVery unique tastes. Cava is similar to Chipotle and Qdoba in how you order, but the food items and flavors are different. The price (based on my several visits to Cava) always seems to be 25% or 30% higher than at Chipotle or Qdoba. That's not bad, it's just different. If you like Chipotle or Qdoba, you'll probably like Cava. I like it, and I'll continue to go there periodically, as an alternative to Chipotle and Qdoba. Interestingly, I went to Cava the first time because it was only 100 yards away from Chipotle (at Plymouth Meeting Mall), and at that time Chipotle wasn't open or wasn't allowing in-store dining or they required online orders only and/or didn't accept cash, or any combination or those diva behaviors. So I took my whole crew to Cava, and we were pleasantly surprised. I have not been back to that Chipotle (Plymouth Meeting Mall) ever since. I had none of those issues at Cava, and even though Cava cost a few dollars more, it was worth it. So if anyone is thinking of going to Chipotle at Plymouth Meeting Mall, you should skip it, and instead try Cava, which is across the parking lot from Chipotle. I think you'll be glad you made a change. Kudos to Cava for having a different palette, AND for not engaging in diva behavior that...
