My husband and stayed in the Egyptian room for our anniversary. We live in Pocatello, but decided it was best to stay close to our children in case there was an emergency. The room was wonderful. The steam shower was amazing, and the bathtub was better than having a hot tub. The bathtub was deep, had jets and there was always plenty of hot water. We brought a lush bath bomb, grabbed some sheet masks and just relaxed. We didn't watch tv, but you can see it from the tub. It's a little bit of a weird angle, but you could totally watch tv from the tub. The decor was lovely, I especially loved the cat statues. The massage table is a nice addition and it was very comfortable. We rented a blu-ray from the red box and enjoyed a movie in bed in the evening. The picture was excellent and there are speakers directly above the bed, which made it an even more enjoyable experience. Here are my very minor complaints: the mirror above the shower has a few spots, probably just from years of use and water getting behind the mirror, but it needs to be replaced. It honestly didn't bother me at all, but my husband mentioned it, so I thought I'd mention it here. The shampoo and conditioner were way too small to be realistically used by two people, but it was bath and body works and it smelled good. Finally, as most people have stated, the food options should be upgraded. That said, my husband and I both enjoyed our poppy seed muffins and orange juice. The room only has coffee and dairy creamer, it would be nice if they had non-dairy creamer and tea, because that's what I drink. That said, I always bring my own, so I still enjoyed my morning tea. We live in Pocatello, and we really don't enjoy most delivery or take-out options, and we wanted to eat in our room rather than going to a restaurant so we could enjoy our room. We went to Albertsons, which has a large selection of fresh made meals that you can heat up, they're only $5 and they're better than anything you'll get at a take out restaurant or delivery. They have hot soups, salads, mashed potatoes and gravy, they have hot chicken, crusty bread, a great selection of meats, cheeses and crackers, which would pair beautifully with wine. We grabbed some movie snacks, a few dinner options, some face masks and some mini bottles of shampoo, and thoroughly enjoyed our night out. We had a wonderful time, I can't...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here with our 2 month old twins for one weekend. We stayed in the sea cave room, but I was also able to tour most of the other rooms. I would definitely book this inn again if I come back to Pocatello. Walking into the room was magical--I was amazed at how thorough the theme was. There was soft music playing and the lighting was set to a soft welcoming glow. The painting on the walls is very detailed and amazing. The bed was surprisingly comfortable--very soft. The twinkle lights in the shell was my favorite part (I feel asleep watching them). The tub was great; it was comfortable and relaxing and I loved that the faucet was a fish. The shower is a fine size, but the shower head is old and disappointing. The toilet and the kitchen area (microwave, mini fridge, dishes) are in the same space and that's both weird and kinda gross. The fish in the aquarium are beautiful and fun to watch. The tile is dated and most of the mirrors are cracked. But overall the room is amazing and makes me happy. The service was great. The staff were all polite. Instead of going to a communal breakfast room during a set time, breakfast is delivered the night before in a basket with microwave instructions. You could select what you want to eat from a small menu. Most items are individually wrapped things that you would buy at Costco (fruit cups, yogurt, applesauce, granola bars, etc) but they also have very delicious cinnamon rolls and other bakery delights. It is a weird way to serve breakfast, but since I'm not an early riser and it's hard to get out the door with two infants I really liked it. The other rooms were gorgeous. They remind me of Disneyland. The themes are carried throughout the room down to the smallest details. The two story rooms are so fun. All the rooms had large TVs and most had awesome tubs. I would definitely stay here again and try other rooms.
Update: We were able to stay here a couple of more times and it was amazing. The atlantis under the sea room had a sauna in it. Pretty awesome. The Romeo and Juliet room was two stories and...
Read moreEven better than expected. Themed hotel rooms can easily end up looking cheap or gaudy, but the Black Swan Inn nailed it on the themed room decor. The Cave Suite is fun but still nice, with a very comfortable Cali King bed, silk sheets (wow!), and massive television that greets you with a serene video and soft acoustics over the hidden surround sound speakers. For travelers, the large tub was great for soaking after a long day on the road, and the parking lot is just off the rear door of at least the Cave Suite, which is handy for unloading/loading.
We fell in love with the Madonna Inn years ago (I even proposed there) so we put the Black Swan Inn on our list for the trek from LA to Glacier Park. And weâre so glad we did! From reading through the detailed binder of information in the room, you can tell the Fisherâs put a lot of time and pride into thoughtfully designing the Black Swan Inn. I wish more hotels cared enough to put together an illustrated book of information about the particular room youâre staying in, the buildingâs history, as well as the local restaurants organized by cuisine. All around excellent attention to detail, which is what makes or breaks a themed room. Dallin at the front desk was super helpful and extremely kind. We hope to be back this way again soon and look forward to...
