This place was the worst... I have ate here before and felt like it just got progressively worse and worse. Being as how my third time was not a charm, I will not be going back, and I will write this review. The very first time I came to New Hong Kong I had this wonderful dish called Walnut Chicken. It was the best! Note the was.. The service was okay but extremely slow ... The second time I ordered to go to avoid server slowness. The chicken was not chicken at all... It was basically deep fried gristel and breading. This time being the third time ... (was today 3/29/19) the whole dish was cold!! The waitress then tells me, it's suppose to be. I'm sitting there thinking it never has been before, but whatever. It took her 20 minutes to check on us... Now if it were busy I would understand, but she was on her cellphone for crying out loud. We waited and waited and waited. In the meantime my boyfriend shared his dish with me. She finally came and we told her about the chicken, but she didn't give us refills. So we waited some more while she took my dish back and microwaved it resulting in soggy deep fried chicken, broccoli that was too hot to eat, and soggy walnuts.... They freakin microwaved it. Even I know to reheat this dish in the oven or better yet, redo your mistake please. We then asked for our refills which took an extra 10 minutes. By this time I was not even hungry and waited for the check. No discount, no apology no nothing. We waited and waited and waited for about 15 minutes before I finally got up walked the front and asked for our check... The couple next to me was so motified by our experience they left. She sat them down and the girl never came back. They waited 20 minutes before the girl even took their order. Of course she never did which is why they left. Another couple came in and the waitress didn't even bother to seat them, she told to go sit in the booth by ours where the first couple had been!!! She said there are already menus open there. Grossed out by the used silverware this couple also left. Meanwhile, I got my bill paid and left. No tip. I feel bad, but service and food that awful deserves less than that. I'm so irritated... I want...
Read moreI can't say that I was anything other than pleased with the service I received while eating at the New Hong Kong today. My waiter was friendly and attentive. I feel that I was checked on an appropriate amount without the waiter being annoying about it (checking every five minutes).
The decor is appropriate, and the restaurant was very clean and well kept. I found the music a relaxing yet typical ethnic selection.
I ordered General Tso's chicken with fried rice. The chicken seemed to be of fair quality, and was not excessively fatty (which is sadly out of the ordinary in this area). I think the seasoning was well balanced, meaning it was neither bland nor overwhelming with just the right amount of spiciness. The rice was light and fluffy, and was not the least bit overcooked (or crunchy which is also out of the ordinary). Also, the New Hong Kong has a good selection of menu items at prices that are about the norm for Chinese. All in all I had a...
Read moreWell normally I order delivery from them when I want great food and I’ve never had an issue. I tip over 20%. Today just ruined it for me. I’m 7 months pregnant and took out my egg drop soup. It was a light green and I didn’t smell anything bad I took a sip and it tasted like they had used a bad egg or something mixed with fresh ones. I called to tell them It rang and then someone picked up the phone and hung up. I called again and the girl that answered said,”well it’s green cause it’s overcooked.” and I’m like - no it taste bad too. She’s said “well, ok.” She offered for me to talk to a manger but I just told her it’s bad and that I hope they won’t serve it but it sounded like she...
