Wouldn’t even serve me “because I have a black and white photo on my driver’s license” ?? The bartender and the bar manager both said they couldn’t serve me or my friend since we have b&w ID photos (Colorado IDs). Extremely weird excuse. We immediately produced alternate, color IDs and he said he still couldn’t serve us. We offered credit cards with our names on them and he quipped back “well you’re not banking with us so I don’t see how that helps.” It was 10:40 and they close at midnight. If this place wants to close early they should just say so. There were still 15 people in there. We’re well above age and walked in calm and sober. Have honestly never had a bar experience like this in my life. Would very much recommend going elsewhere if you’re from one of the 10+ states with IDs that have...
Read more4.5 stars. Chill atmosphere, with a GREAT draft selection. All the whiskies are of local origin, with some really interesting choices available. The chili is delicious; the menu is small but tasty bar food. Portions are generous, though a bit heavy on toppings-the chili had a TON of cheese on it (though that's extra; it doesn't come with it standard, so maybe ask for light cheese?). Brian the bartender was cool and handled the dual jobs of bartender and cook ably. We were in on a weekday and it wasn't super busy; I'd imagine there would be a separate cook on busy or weekend nights. He was friendly, knowledgeable and VERY well dressed! There was an open mic, with a local gentleman playing some mellow country and folk, which further lent to this dive bar's appeal. Good time...
Read moreA true local's dive bar and a popular one at that, this is the place you walk into and find the locals are part of the hodge podge decor, it totally reflects the spirit and history of the community. This place reminds me a bit of the Wobbly Elm from Shitt's Creek, totally unique.
I wasn't expecting such a large selection of craft liquor and beer, and it was a pleasant off ramp from the typical hum drum "Big Box" brands. The drinks definitely come with interesting company and conversation, whether the subject be eating a vegetarian taco for the first time or the etiquette around farting at a campfire, your guaranteed a...
