New Day Eatery is currently not doing dine in but they do have outside seating and they do take out orders, which is what we did. We noticed that they are a really busy eatery, but it was amazing to watch their professionalism and how they handled telephone orders and walk-in's. I've never seen a place that was so busy and stress-free. Their menu is really diverse and has something for everybody whether you're eating meat or you're vegetarian or vegan. I had the vegan biscuits and gravy with potatoes - amazing and totally blew it out of the park!! My daughter loved her basil tomato soup, as well as the quinoa salad with salmon - there was more greens then quinoa, but it was still a delicious meal she said. And their desserts are amazing, as well - we had the peanut butter brownie (GF) and wished we could eat it everyday. If you find yourself in downtown Port Angeles, totally give them a try - this little town doesn't have a lot of restaurant options but this place is doing an amazing job during Covid, and I highly recommend them.

Found a new eatery with plenty of vegan options. If you have an issue with soy - make sure to note it as their “eggs” and “chyen” are both soy based. The menu has plenty of options for vegan, gluten free, and carnivores alike. We made two selections from the vegan options - poutine and root vegetables with potato rounds. Both were good! The portion size may seem a bit small but it is really normal. Let your food sit for a few and it will register! The root veggie dish had butternut squash and he had two regular eggs over medium (vegan eggs were an option. The poutine was nice crispy potato rounds with vegan shredded mozzarella and an onion and mushroom gravy. My only input is that the gravy was a bit salty while still tasty! They also have a great drink menu that includes alcohol, kombucha, and coffees (can be vegan compliant). Hubby had beer and I took a to go orange mocha oat milk latte! We will be back to try some of their backer goods which includes a number of vegan and gluten free compliant options.

New Day Eatery - Port Angeles, WA Heading to Victoria, BC for their VegFest event by way of Black Ball Ferry from Port Angeles. If you're looking for vegan options in Port Angeles, wow ... New Day Eatery is THE place to be! They have a large separate vegan menu with Breakfast, Brunch and Sandwich options. Their vegan menu isn't the only thing that's large, as their portion sizes are huge! But wait, in addition to a large vegan menu, and an amazing variety of options with large sizes, there's ... more 🫢! They also have an extensive array of vegan desserts available, cakes, scones, brownies and cinnamon rolls 😮. We ordered a slice of both, their Peanut Butter Cake and their Espresso Cake. These can best be described as dense and very hearty cakes (as opposed to light and fluffy), absolutely delicious and one slice will fill you up easy! Side note, their bathroom is huge and so cheerful lol See, I told you this is THE place to grab vegan chow when visiting Port Angeles 🤤😉, you don't want to miss it!

I have to eat dairy free and gluten free due to my breastfeeding infant having food allergies. New day has been the only place I’ve found with options I can have. We usually go at breakfast but this time we went for lunch. I was surprised and sad to see only one GF V item on their lunch menu. When we were being seated the person seating us said they were out of jackfruit. The only GF V item is their jackfruit Mac & cheese. When the waitress came I asked if I was able to still get the gf v Mac and cheese without the jackfruit and substitute a meat. She said yes no problem. A few moments later the lady who originally sat us came out and plainly said “I told you we were out of jackfruit” I replied “yes, I asked if I could get meat instead” she looked at my strangely and said “hmm I’ll check on that.” Then the waitress came back and said she was sorry but the kitchen wouldn’t be cooking the gf v Mac and cheese since there was no more jackfruit. This was the only safe option for me so I unfortunately had to just sit there while the rest of my party ate their food and then go home to make my lunch.

I get that things run out but it wasn’t clear that the Mac and cheese couldn’t be made without the jackfruit at all - and more importantly, it wasn’t handled in a pleasant manner but rather in a way that made it seem as if I was stupid for even thinking such a request could be made.

Sadly not impressed and don’t think we will be back they anymore.

And if you are gluten free and dairy free, definitely don’t...

Review of our visit August 7, 2020: The manager pulled her face mask down/off as if that would help get her point across. She was about 2 feet away when doing so.. Completely unprofessional. Don't order the Orange Creamsicle coffee! It's served full of orange pulp! How disgusting to end up with pulp all over my teeth and gagging. And no napkin provided until the food arrived. I returned the coffee after attempting a couple sips but the manger told our server to keep the $6.50 for it on our bill. Unacceptable! I explained to the manager I've ordered the orange mocha before and it didn't have pulp in it, why would this one. She stated they now muddle the orange. I wonder if any of them have tried drinking one that way. It should be strained! The amount of pulp was crazy! Also poor and slow service. Half the capacity of customers but the front crew of 3-4 seemed to struggle to keep up. To argue with customers, no concern or apology for our disappointment, was surprising. Very poor management on her part. Having grown up & worked in the restaurant business I would have never treat a customer this way. Plus high prices! We will not...

We arrived about 40 minutes before close, so I expected some level of being done for the day. Unfortunately, it was beyond my expectation and was some of the worst service I've had in awhile. The waitress barely made eye contact, we basically had to ask for everything we needed (kind of the opposite of service), she failed to mention the list of multiple things they were out of as well as that my plate had just come out of the oven (leading to me burning my finger)... the same plate that had an obvious dark hair in the food she brought us 😔 When I mentioned it, I wasn't given options or even an apology. Instead I was told in a sharp and short tone, that it would taken off my bill as she grabbed the plate and quickly left the table. I get it, you're ready to go home Alexis and it's super awkward when that happens. However, you're still at work and it would be lovely for these locals (who have both been waitresses before) to be treated more kindly when we bring our money to your business. We haven't had this experience here before and we hope to never have...
