RH has some pretty cool stuff. Their leather couches, for example, are awesome and the costs are what they are; you know what you’re getting into when you buy one. The quality of the items vary a bit, but on the whole are not too bad. What is not excusable, however, is their customer service. It’s a total joke and the level of incompetence is absolutely horrifying. I would rank it somewhere between a 3rd rate regional airline in the former USSR and Macy’s. Therefore, the issue comes down to the amount one spends on goods compared to the service received and this is why RH Portland gets a big ol’ 1 Star. Truthfully, most people can figure out the items for themselves so I would simply skip the folks in the Gallery and just buy directly online. Or better yet, skip RH all together and go to a local spot. I’m sure you can find pretty decent quality at high prices elsewhere. Just ask yourself this: If you're going to spend $3k,$5k,$10k,or $20k+, would you rather spend it and get great service or get dismal service? If you want dismal service, go ahead and shop at RH, but if you want a little quality help after you swipe that credit card—try somewhere else. Read moreAn absolutely horrible experience! Bought a double vanity and was told when I went to get the technical drawings that it would take 72 hours to get a response. Okay that seemed fine. Although not having the drawings for a vanity you sell seemed odd. After 72 hours I was told that they did not have them and they would take 5 business days to get them from the manufacturer. Now this seemed stupid. It takes 5 days just to find out where the drains need to be placed for a product that you require to be professional installed. But I wanted....and wanted...I called several times over the 5 day period and was assured that they would have them after 5 days. On the fifth day I called and they said it would take 10 days. I immediately asked to speak to a manager. The manager told me it should only take 5 but she could not tell me why I didn't have them and I need to wait 3 to 5 more to get a response. This is absolutely crazy! Don't ever buy a vanity from them or something that needs to be installed. This is the last purchase I am making with them and I am going to cancel all my other orders I...
Read moreThe building is spectacular (5*)... Multimillionaires take note, if it goes on the market: Town home! It would also make a great movie set.
Most of the furniture is very uninspired... Would you like beige or off white? Impractical, uncomfortable, or both? (1*)
The outdoor furniture is better... Pricey, but at least it doesn't feel like everybody was taking bland brain modifiers. (3*) (Mind you the roof setting is so grand, noticing the product is secondary)
Service feels a bit like a Manhattan art gallery... Polite but not friendly. There was one salesperson who seemed interested in selling, new perhaps?
I rather imagine the staff outnumbers outsiders most of the time, and customers by roughly ten to one... Doesn't seem like a viable business plan. Even if a couch is in the ten K range.
Bottom line: If price was no object I still wouldn't buy anything there. But go! Imagine the place as a home or an embassy, with a party going on... And laugh at the hosts'...
