The food is decent on a good night. I’ve patroned the bar 6X in as many years for a late night takeout. On average the food is a solid 3 stars. Which isn’t bad for late night bar food. The staff is polite and gracious. While I haven’t sat inside, the vibe seems pretty good too.
Here’s my issue. In the last week I’ve ordered twice and tipped. “Tip the kitchen staff $5 X2”. I ordered onion rings on both orders. Even though I asked if ranch/dipping sauce was included, I was told it was and it was not. My second order included 10 wings. I was told the order was complete, but there’s no ranch or sauce. This isn’t exactly a big deal. However it is disappointing. Considering that this wasn’t a mishap. This is apparently the practice for take out. I tipped $10 on a takeout order. Just give me some darn dipping sauce for my wings and rings, especially considering that I requested to receive what is stated on the menu as “included”.
Lastly. If your tomato soup needs to be heavily watered because you’re out. It should be customary to ask your customers if they still want it. I don’t quite enjoy ordering food before working a 10 hour shift to not actually eat. I threw money and time away. I paid to receive a portion of food that I can’t consume.
In a good faith and support of local business, I won’t give 1 star. But tonight’s experience was exactly that. I’m grouchy from hunger and angry that my next 2 hours of work I’ll be working for money I threw away for...
Read moreOkay so one day I call the bar and I make it to go order for a burger and the gentleman behind the bar has no issue making me the to-go order. A week later, I called again to place another quick order around 11:00 p.m. a girl answered the phone and told me that she will not place a to-go order over the phone whatsoever and that I need to use an app to order food and in this case it is an app that I've never even heard of. She was pretty rude about it. For some reason she couldn't turn to a computer and enter in my order? That's super strange in super unfriendly, I live here, right above you.
So I just went here and ordered, it took a while for the girl to turn around and actually place my order and she seemed way more concerned about carrying on casual conversation at her bar then having a concern for someone waiting in line but that's okay I get it it's a tipping industry. It made me not want to tip at all but hey, I did anyway though I really didn't feel good about it.
I got a very hipster stuck up vibe from that experience and I think it's really adorable and suits everyone there really well. I won't be back, I'll do my to avoid spending my money here that's for sure. What a bummer because I live next door and I really like the food. I'll skip the bratty attitude when i make my...
Read moreA few of my friends and I were downtown celebrating a buddy’s birthday last night. It was the end of the night and I was needing to go home, and half my friend group was inside of this bar, while the other half was going to an apartment downtown. I walk up to this bar, with my id in hand, tell the main guy my friends are inside and he insists I am way too drunk to enter. At this point I had had one drink the entire night. I needed to get home and my ride was inside of this bar. Instead of helping me out, the guy checking IDs told me I needed a “reality check” and to “go spend the night at my little friends house”. When my friend came outside who I was supposed to catch a ride with, she said hey she is coming home with me, why won’t you let her in? He blankly says “feel free to leave my establishment if you think I’m letting this girl in”. At 1 o’clock on in the morning I was left to fend for myself outside a bar because this guys ego was too big to let me inside with my friends who were providing me a ride home. Treating people this way is ridiculous, and if you’re a 21 year old girl looking to be safe in any bar, I would not recommend this place. Especially if the guy with the beard is working...
