I'm not sure how this hotel can have 4.1 stars. I would give it 0 if I could. We had the absolute worst stay here! My husband and I drove about 5 hours to Pattville for an eventful weekend with family. We were given a room that had mold on the walls and left over coffee grounds in the coffee maker from previous guests. We were already late for our first family function so we opted to wait to handle this situation in the morning because we knew we would get back to the hotel really late and were tired from travel. I spoke with an employee the following morning who said the mold formed over night. Knowing that is false, I immediately asked to speak to the manager, Dianne Hernandez. Dianne told me that after rooms are cleaned and left unoccupied for a while that mold can form. That means Laquinta's staff do not check/ clean the rooms prior to offering it to guest. I'm not sure how that statement would make a customer feel better about being given a room with mold on the walls. What makes this statement even worse is that I was able to take a wet washcloth and easily wipe the wall. Dianne offered us another room which was the least they could do, however it was an inconvenience to us to have to move all of our things. Dianne told me that we should have come the first time we saw it. I explained to Dianne that we were already running late for a family event that night, arrived back at the hotel at about midnight, and was tired from travel. If we would have told staff as soon as we arrived, either we would have been even later to our event or we would have been changing rooms at midnight. No matter what, it would have been an inconvenience! We should not have been given a room with mold in the first place and wanted that night to be deducted from the bill. Dianne said she was only able give a discount for the first night. We were still unsatisfied with this offer as no guest should have to experience this! A clean room is the bare minimum and we were not given that! We accepted to change rooms and were told they would call my husband's cell phone when the new room was ready. 2 hours go by, no call. My husband goes to the front desk to check if the new room was ready. He was told that the room was ready but they forgot to call us. We had to move our plans around for that day because of this delay. We finally move to the new room. That night, while in bed, we heard another guest attempting to access our room. Had we not locked the door, the other guest would have entered. This made us feel unsafe! I called the front to see why they would give another guest a key to our room. I was told that it was no where in the system that we had moved to that room and it was showing that the room was available in the system. That means there was zero communication among staff. My husband and I decided we will NEVER come back to this hotel and hope that others do not have...

Read moreAfter arriving and got checked in, go up to the room and find the linens stained up on the bed, bathroom mirror had not been cleaned, refrigerator leaking, area around the microwave atrocious, air filters had not been cleaned in quite a while, human bodily fluids dried all over the furniture. Went down and showed the lady at the front desk and her exact words was,"oh my God, I'm so sorry" so she walked with me to get me another room and after the third one we came to, we finally found one tolerable. While I was at the front desk, there was another guest with the same issues. Granted I was not expecting the Ritz Carlton but the housekeepers definitely need retrained on how to clean as if their families were coming to stay. Was there for 4 days and every day had issues with the card entry. Just could not get it right and the (2)two general managers acted as if they didn't even care. They were more worried about getting paid for our stay than they were about our experiences. Would highly recommend if you stay to check the room before you move in. The hotel has been renovated recently and it looks as if the only thing was done was new flooring and paint. They admitted they used the old bedding and the old furniture with the wood laminate pealing off and beat up, light bulbs not working in every fixture, the main hallway the acoustical ceiling was spray painted with dollar tree paint and Ray Charles. They need to have the money spent on renovation to be refunded because I think elementary school kids could have done a much better job. Just my opinion. Please see pictures. Just be cautious if staying here. All of this said and the world is battling a world wide pandemic and they can't even get things clean. Come on now, the housekeeping has one job and from the looks they either just don't care or they have not been trained properly or have the proper materials and equipment to do their job...
