Microtel Inn and Suites by Wyndham Prattville Montgomery — Hotel in Prattville

The location is conveniently located off the freeway with several gas stations and restaurants to choose from. That is where the positives end. I booked 2 rooms several months in advance only to be told they were only showing one room reserved. I showed the confirmation and they agreed to give us the second room at the original booking price. Very friendly evening staff. Not many amenities in the room, but we just needed a place to crash after driving for 13 hours. The next morning I headed down to the cafe while the rest of my family slept. The coffee was good, orange juice was extremely watered down, cereal but no spoons, bagels but no knives. THEN my husband appeared telling me that we were leaving because our room was covered in ants. I talked to Katie at the front desk who was not surprised by the ants and agreed to comp one of our rooms for the "inconvenience". I was disgusted and frustrated, but whatever, I was letting it go. THEN I discover I was charged twice for the non ant infested room... the original price I booked it for, and then a second time at almost $50 more. I have been in communication with Katie and she flat out refuses to acknowledge that I have been charged twice for one room. I was here for ~4 days and enjoyed my stay overall. Now, I'd heard that the hotel had an ant problem, but I gave it a shot because Hotwire wouldn't change my reservation.

The front desk attendants were all really pleasant and helpful. The reading nook is such a nice addition and the touchscreen mirror was pretty cool too. Btw, there's a wall thermostat controlling the actual A/C unit - I didn't notice it at first. And the Wi-Fi's really good, which is rare for some hotels.

As far as breakfast: it's a decent selection. Eggs, really thin bacon (they had turkey sausage links on my last day), nice seasoned grits, bagels, cereal, etc. I liked the mini waffle maker.

My only real complaints are about noise: if your room is near one of the side doors like mine was, you'll be hearing that door slam over & over if someone's going in and out a lot. 🙄 That door was locked the next day, so that was a plus. Then, the day of checkout, they had a guy doing some type of construction work right out my room at like 10 a.m. Why not have them wait 1 single hour, until after checkout time? This place is pathetic from the owner down to the ignorant employees. We had problems from the very beginning and the way we were treated ,my son and I don't appreciate it.
