LONG REVIEW INCOMING! This was our 3rd time visiting this new location. The first two visits, though confusing with the cones and slow (that’s to be expected), were great. I even got a cute little tote bag the first time I went. I went through the drive through around 8pm tonight. I ordered a chicken sandwich add cheese, a burger, and chicken strips. I received a grilled cheese sandwich, burger, and chicken strips. After being provided the number on Facebook by the owner, I called and discovered the receipt taped to the plastic bag at the instruction of the girl on the phone. (side note: the owner has been very active on community pages keeping the community informed of everything Whataburger for months. He has field question after question with kindness and respect. Tonight he responded to my Facebook post at 9pm) It appears the young lady taking orders was thrown off by the car in front of me having a payment method decline and just didn’t hear me clearly. She rang up a grilled cheese sandwich instead of a grilled chicken sandwich with cheese. Honest mistake, I can see how they might sound similar if you are distracted. The grilled cheese was not what I wanted, but, and don’t come for me for this, was quite good dipped in the gravy 😂😂.
My kids LOVE Whataburger and I am sure when they get all the kinks sorted out it’s going to be even better. The food is always good. The young lady, though distracted, was kind taking my order. The young lady on the phone even offered to make me a grilled chicken sandwich with cheese for free, but I declined because I got what I paid for even if it wasn’t what I intended to order.
I cannot wait to see the cones gone from the parking lot and mobile ordering available. I use mobile ordering at the Eastchase location all the time and it’s always super efficient. With two kiddos it’s never fun after the first two minutes in the car so skipping the wait with mobile ordering is highly anticipated!
Also, the atmosphere ranking is not applicable really because the inside isn’t open, but the 3-star rating there is due to the cones. They didn’t have clear signage or employees out directing the first two times I visited and it was complete drive through chaos. The one way in, one way out seems a little inefficient to me. When they get the inside opened I will update my review to reflect that because we will continue to visit...
Read moreThe Kiosk would randomly not print out receipts and was generally just malfunctioning. Instead of saying it was out of order they continued to let people use it and when people asked for things they were missing (which happened VERY often) they would accuse the customer of lying because they didn’t have a receipt. When someone would ask for their receipt so they could prove they had ordered a certain item the workers would say it was too tedious to try and print their receipt for them from the register. Say you do have your receipt and you’re missing an item, well i’m sorry but you may be out of luck there too because you’ll most likely have to ask three different employees for your missing items and continue to wait for 15+ minutes only to be told it couldn’t be made because they were out of whatever it is to make it.
Now onto the food. I ordered their cobb salad with ranch. very simple. There’s not really a way to mess up a salad, especially when the dressing comes on the side. Must’ve been a lot less simple than I thought it would be because I found two hairs in my salad. They must’ve been putting in a lot of effort to manage to shed not one but two short curly black hairs in my salad. If i’d known it came with two hairs I probably would’ve ordered them on the side. Now I didn’t bother them about this or even bring it up to them. At the time, the only person at the front was a sweet girl that seemed to be the only one genuinely trying to do her job, get chewed out by what I assumed to be the manager. Humiliating the poor girl. Super hard to watch. So I didn’t want to bring her any more trouble so I let it be.
There’s a men’s and women’s restroom but they are one stalled. So the line was ridiculous. you’d think because it’s a known tourist stop it would have a larger restroom. But like many other things in this restaurant it just became an inconvenience.
The employees don’t give af. I don’t need to explain myself here because I already have. I hate working just as much as the next person but Jesus christ it was on...

Wait time: about 10 minutes
Costumer service: 10/10. They are happy to help, and they gladly fixed an order mistake in which they forgot to give us a side of fries. The manager and the crew were very kind
Food: 9/10 because they forgot my bacon on my bacon burger, but decided not to bother them because they were busy. Besides that, though, the taste was perfect, and their tea is great
Dining area: 3.5/5. Tables and chairs were clean, but the floors and the area on and around the trash cans could be better
Bathroom: 3/5. I've seen way worse, but they could have done better with the floor and the sink and the fact that the trash can was overflowing
Kitchen: 10/10 Clean, and that matters a lot
For a resteraunt that is open 24 hours a day and seems to attract a good crowd from the interstate, it does pretty good, but there are areas in which they could to better
Overall, if I'm traveling in the area and need something to eat, this will be one of my choices. I think they'll do better in the future since it's a newer, more...
