The salted bee latte I got here was tasty and just a bit adventurous on flavor. Better than Starbucks, but have definitely had coffees and lattes at other craft coffee shops that I think are higher quality. This, however, is not what earned them only three stars.
Upon entering the building with five other people, we were almost immediately greeted by a female barista who shouted at us to keep the door closed. The shop is tiny; it barely holds the six of us, plus the three other patrons who were already inside. Guess the 15 seconds it took for us all to enter the building was not quick enough for her.
As I treat every establishment that I rate, customer service is what it takes to earn 5 stars. There are ways to kindly ask patrons to shut the door if you feel it’s taking too long. “Hey, welcome in! Once you’re inside, would you mind shutting the door? It helps keep the shop nice and cool in the summer! What can I get for you?” That is so easy. If your employees can’t do that, then I can’t give...
Read moreThis is a five star coffee shop for a reason! The coffee and service were outstanding. Both Tria and Daniel couldn’t have been more gracious. We are opening a coffee shop in Pelham. NY to be run by intellectually disabled adults and were on a research business trip. We saw it had five stars and went in to explore why. The coffee shop was not busy at the time, fortunately, and Tria invited our rather large group in and demonstrated a pour over coffee for us. She took the time to explain to our crew all the steps and all the intricacies there-in. Our crew looked on enthralled and Tria engaged them fully and dynamically. The coffee was delicious. It’s one thing to drink a kind-hearted, top notch, cup of coffee, it’s quite another to drink a top notch cup of coffee from a kind heart. Kohi is exquisitely laid out and for pure coffee enthusiasts. The place has soul, and it’s Daniel and Tria that give it such. Kohi in P-town is coffee...
Read moreThis location would get a 4/5 based on quality of coffee, but the ability to adapt to simple customer requests is horrible:
Normally, they do serve 16oz “iced coffees” (the cup size exists), but if you ask them to upgrade your Iced Mocha/latte from the only 12oz size they have, into a 16oz cup— they won’t do it. Even if you explicitly say you’re OK being charged more for the extra milk, or even requesting them to charge you separate for an additional shot of espresso being thrown in.
It’s stupid that I’d have to order 2 different 12oz mochas (~$15) just to get enough liquid to fill my thirst — ESPECIALLY when you already have the cup size available & a customer states they would gladly pay for additions.
Just make this a standard size (or charge for the additional shot to fill a 16oz cup) — atm this is why I avoid going here when thirsty, despite preferring the taste...
