Rahway Plaza Apartments — Local services in Rahway

I have had a good experience living here. I have been here since 2013 and it is quiet, clean and has a security guard. The only issue is when it rains the basement flood because the Rahway river is behind the complex.

Each apartment has a huge balcony with sliding glass door. I know that the 2 bedrooms have a lot of closets space. It has large pool and a kiddie pool which has gotten pricey but they do have lifeguard on duty and it does have on-site laundry in each building.

The plumbing is outdated and I have had issues with the toilet backing up multiple time. The maintenance staffs are all very good. They are nice and really helpful. Overall I like it at the Plaza and the location of course is the best.

The parking however is horrible because they don't have assigned parking and they only have 6 handicap parking for each building. They do have a ramp room for you to discard used unwanted furniture and they have a donation bin for you to discard used unwanted clothing.

Anything you don't want just take it to the ramp room and they will discard it for you. The electric gets billed in your rent and it can be pricey. You get your gas bill from Elizabeth gas company.

The intercom system is good because you can use it from your phone and you can give out a delivery code. You don't have to be home to open the door. You also will have a record of who rang your bell.

The laundry system is a smart type system that uses a fob. You can see on your phone which washer or dryer are available and it tells you when your clothes are almost complete.

Even with that selfish people will leave their clothes in the machines for hours and you will eventually have to take them out if you want to wash your clothes. (Sorry for all the edits, I added as...

A tale of 2 buildings... The complex is comprised of buildings,1171 &1181 1181 is the favored building because it houses the management office.1171 is a different story... The buildings are 12 stories tall and have 12 apartments per floor. There are 2 elevators per building that hold 6 adults each,unfortunately 1171 has only one that works. The other elevator has been out of service for over 9 months!!! Management has no immediate plans to fix it,as the city continues to fine them.The buildings appear to look nice,but hide the internal problems,plumbing,etc...Workers,for the most part,are nice,but morale seems low. Things are different from when I moved in over 15 years ago. Lower rents,Lower expectations??? Nice sized apartments with a terrace,pool, inadequate laundry facilities,etc & you will be living in a flood zone FYI The owners brag about having a "multi-billion dollar portfolio" to potential investors,yet are unwilling to pay thousands to fix...

Finally they fix the bottom ring belts on the bottom they actually put a good box that you can actually put the codes and ring the doorbell it was a mess up right there on both buildings so finally I said very good and besides everything else building looks neat clean always sharp and very safe around...
