Celebrated a friend’s birthday last night and we had such a great time!! We were initially a little let down by the service before we were seated, but once we got to our table, our server Jasmine and the food made our night fantastic!! A few days before, we went to make a reservation, but saw that you could only make reservations online for parties of 4 or less, and there were 5 of us planning on going. I called to see if they would be able to accommodate us and they said no (and fair enough because it was kind of last minute), but because OpenTable still showed plenty of availability for parties of 4, we decided to take our chances without a reservation. When one of my friends arrived she went to put our name in the hostess said it would be an hour, and even though we were totally expecting/willing to wait, she seemed like she just wanted us to say never mind and go somewhere else. We were a little disappointed because on OpenTable they still had reservations available for 4 people 15 minutes after the time we arrived, but because there were 5 of us we couldn’t grab one (understandable, just disappointing!!); however, there was a 6 person high top open when we arrived that stayed empty the remainder of the evening until we left around 10 pm. We were pleasantly surprised when not even 10 minutes later we were seated in a part of the restaurant they hadn’t seated anyone else in. So, even though we had a less than great start, our wonderful server and the great food totally made up for it. Jasmine was so kind, attentive, and made excellent recommendations!! She also gave a free dessert to my friend for her birthday and even let her pick what she wanted!! All of our food was great - the truffle fries, poke bowl, cheeseburger, veggie burger, and the shrimp and scallop Mac and cheese - but the real star of the show was Jasmine.

It's the fried green tomatoes for me ! Stir is such a great place for a brunch date, lunch or dinner. They have a variety of items on their menu and offer cocktails and a warm and inviting ambiance in the midst of this metropolitan style city of North Hills. Stir features a full dining room, outdoor patio equipped with fire pits, heaters and umbrellas. Today was 50 degrees so we literally had the best of both worlds dining outside. There is a fantastic view of the park Avenue buildings and businesses and this is the epicenter of entertaining with the AC hotel, Rosewater restaurant next door and Kings Entertainment just across the street. Literally a serial daters wildest dream come true. The one thing that's unforgettable for me here is the Fried Green Tomatoes ! O M GEE! These are delicious. Crispy Fried green tomatoes topped with parsley, cucumber, green pepper, onion and PIMENTO CHEESE! For those of you who don't know, I'm new to the south and this was my first time trying pimento cheese and it is delicious !!!!!!!! It's just a flavor I can't even describe. This combined with the tomatoes was a masterpiece. Unfortunately I did not enjoy my crab and shrimp Benedict. Not flavorful. The potatoes were pretty good. I can't wait to visit for dinner here and try the oysters. Great date destination.

I feel I’m being generous at giving three stars… I’ll try to explain. First, it was Saturday evening at 7pm; you would expect a place like this to be packed. I’d say it was 1/3 empty. Yet the noise level was such that we found ourselves constantly leaving over the table to hear what our friends were saying. Food: this was surprising. After reading many reviews, our expectations were higher. Overall, food was ok but honestly, nothing I could generally say as to why someone should go there. They were out of a couple things and the big bomb was this: our server raved about the marbling in the ribeye… well we ordered it but got served what looked like a sirloin maybe? At least they cooked it rare. Finally, while our server was nice, I have to say he was quite peculiar. I’ve been to literally thousand of restaurants all over the world, I have never had a server flat out. Tell us that something on the menu was bad. I mean… Maybe he was just being overly direct. But even as we got to dessert, we asked what the options were and his response was, “well there are two options and neither of them are good. we have green tea, cheesecake and chocolate cake. I love me a good cheesecake but when I think of cheesecake, I don’t think of green tea.” 😳 We also wanted decaf coffee but they didn’t have that either. Also be aware… they open the large windows/panels beside the bar opening up the restaurant to the outdoors. However all through dinner we were swatting at flies. Management: if you’re going to open your restaurant to the outdoors, you should consider having a very effective solution for keeping flies away from tables. Overall: everything was ok. If it wasn’t for the people we were with who made our evening enjoyable, I would have probably been far more vocal while we were there and I’m definitely NOT going back.

I was in N. C. December 31st visiting. My sister who resides there, recommended this place to eat. We had a reservation however when our party of six arrived, we were told our table just had to be wiped down. 20 minutes later we were seated. The staff was not very...warm...it was obvious our waitress was annoyed. The menu had been changed and even saying that I was a visitor I received no assistance with the menu choices nor any enthusiasm. Perhaps she was overwhelmed... We sat over 15 minutes with menus and water. We flagged the manager over and explained our visit and could we order drinks, he proceeded to tell us in a condescending tone that they we're under staffed and it's like this all over the world. When our food arrived almost and hour in there was a fly in pasta. The meal was ordered without asparagus but asparagus was added to the cheesy dish. As our friend began to pick out the asparagus and not raise a fuss she revealed a whole fly! Once the waitress finally acknowledged our hand waving her to us, we asked for the manager. The manager that was on duty and had just been watching us from the bar as we watched the waitress telling him what happened, never came to speak with us. 10 minutes later as we begun to put our coats on the new manager came to us asking about what happened as if he hadn't been filled in. He proceeded to say is was a shift change... We showed him the fly and we all walked out. We at a the restaurant across the street. Would eat there again? No. And not because of the fly.

Fantastic place, went for my birthday dinner with the family and it was a fun experience. The menu overall looks amazing - we wanted to try everything on it! Luckily everything we did choose was delicious, everyone loved all of the food ordered. Our server started out fantastic - super nice, energetic. The food and drinks came out very fast, but not overlapping which was nice. He also did an ice forming demonstration since we hadn't been before, and that was very cool to watch. Towards the end, he seemed to either go on break or get busy because it took a while to get to go boxes and our check, that is the only reason for the 4 stars on service. Overall still very good. The atmosphere was very cool, the mix of indoor and outdoor space and how that flowed was a cool vibe. We started with the fried green tomatoes and truffle / parmesan fries. Both were fantastic - especially the fried green tomatoes - outstanding. My family ordered the Tuna Poke bowl, Mahi bowl and one of the burgers - all were amazing. Drinks were just ok - I had their gin and tonic and it wasn't anything special but the ice was super cool. Overall a great experience!

My wife had the sliders and truffle fries and I had the Steak Frites, but since I had some of her fries I canceled my fries and ordered the grilled asparagus. Thank heavens I did, because it was the best grilled asparagus I’ve ever had and I’m a serious grilled asparagus fan! Don’t know what they do to it, but it was cooked perfectly and some of the tips had a slight char that made it really amazing. The place I normally get this dish used hanger steak for the meat and I was a little dubious when I saw that there was a marinated sirloin. However, their version is better than my favorite at the old place and this is now my new place for this dish. Also, if you have the opportunity, ask to be seated at a table where Kenton will be your server. One of the nicest and most engaging people that I’ve ever met and he made the dinner even better than it would have been with just the food. He should definitely be training their new servers on how to interact with customers, as this is something he has mastered either naturally or through long effort! My wife also really enjoyed her Chardonnay and I had a couple of bourbons from their massive selection.
