I came with my family for lunch. The food was good, and our server was decent; however I was harassed by another employee because I had no shoes on. I was told it was company policy though nothing is listed regarding this on their door or anywhere else, then she went on to tell me it was state law to have my shoes on (health code violation she stated) and followed it up with stating it was because of potential for broken glass that I NEEDED to have shoes or I would NEED TO LEAVE. (FYI the plates are hard plastic, drink cups plastic, and as far as i could tell the only glass objects were the sneezeguards although they do have porcelain cups..) if one looks up the healthcode laws regarding barefeet, you will find it is completely legal and is NOT a violation in any state in the United States to enter or be in establishments that do or do not serve food, barefoot it is best to know the law before trying to press it on someone else. This is the only establishment that has had a problem with me not having shoes in the past 6 months. I've been to Applebee's, Guadalajara's, Pizza Ranch, Fuji steakhouse, Huhot, Blazes, Chili's, Subway, Sauske's, Pizza Hut, Millstone, The Park, just to name a few locations as well as a plethora of gas stations, super markets, and grocery stores, yet this is the only place to give me a hard time, again because it is NOT AN OSHA OR DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH VIOLATION I didn't appreciate her attitude or falsely stating information as facts trying to bully me to put shoes on, however to appease the lady I did go put my shoes on. Please know your laws and rights before staring them as facts. This encounter was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. I've provided a picture of the document stating I was within my legal rights regarding OSHA And the department of health regulations. I recommend NOT GOING to this establishment unless you dont mind taking the chance of being harassed by employees that want to press their opinion on others and state them as facts. Again, good food, but...
Read moreWe are traveling from Ohio, a party of 7, 3 adults, 2 senior citizens (75 years old) and 2 kids. We came in to Rapid City location (store 0778 is what manager said) with my Mother inlaws support dog and paid over $125 for meals. We were never asked about nor told anything about the dog when entering or before paying. Shortly after getting food, the manager (who refused to give his name) told my father inlaw to leave with the dog. He said that he was feeding the dog. The dog is a chiwawa whom weights 5lbs and eats crumbs. She did not bark, and was no disruption. My Father inlaw left with the dog as told. We have taken the dog with us in every restaurant on our trip, including 5-star restaurants far more upscale than Golden Corral. The problem was not asking the dog to leave, it was the manner in which the manager delivered the message, refused to refund 1 senior meal, and his absolute lack of compassion for the entire situation. He was arrogant, rude, mean and a compete jerk. There is a certain level of customer service and human decency that is expected by individuals in management positions. Quite frankly, I feel my inlaws were discriminated against and I would strongly recommend anyone traveling or local to NOT give this place any business. I read that they need help in various positions and from my interaction with the manager, I can see why they can't keep any help. Our waitress even said that "he was very strict, and what he says goes." She was very nice and had some decency. This manager also refused to give us his name, store corporate number, or refund $16 from a $126.59 bill because my Father inlaw left after just eating a small amount of food before being told to get the dog out. This was our worst experience on our vacation and we are 8 days into it. Very...
Read moreI came with my family and it cost us $40.00 for a family of three. 2 adults and a 13 year old who also had pop. Sat down a d started to go through the lines got our food started to eat and the pasta was cold, pizza was still raw and cold, corn on cob was disgusting let's just say the food was not a good as when we were there this summer with family visiting from out of state. Now for the kicker of this all. Mom was watching the steak ,pizza, chicken and pasta stations when the grill cook was cleaning up with ungloved hands with a dish rag then restocked the hot foods with unwashed hands or gloves. He then went to freezer and came back with the corn on cob and with bare hands put more of the frozen corn in the pot of water, when done with that went to the meat cooler and handled raw meat with bare hands and put them on the grill. After that he went back to the pasta station and jumped up on the counter between pasta and steak station and got a container from above jumped down looked at container was not what he wanted and jumped up again. Mom lost it and said we will not come back for awhile. I suggest that all the employees have serve safe training. Mom also thinks that we were over charged because a couple who probably were seniors were charged $32.00. We all can not figure it out. Need to tell we patrons what the actual charges are and we need the receipt. Thank you...
