First time here and definitely a lot of PROS! Just a few things if you're going there for the first time. You seat yourself and the bar tenders tend to you! And you can get half and half pizzas! Tugi behind the bar was wonderful and so kind!! He made sure we were well taken care of, because of the 118 degree heat he had waters for us ASAP! And he helped us with food choices! The food is fantastic!! Highly recommend the brie and ham pizza! We tried the balsalmic steak and it was good but nothing to brag about honestly. Steak wasn't highly seasoned and could use more balsamic so I'd give it a 7/10 but the brie and ham was a 9.5/10! We got a medium and the sizes for pizzas are a little on the small side but 2 people can eat off a medium with an appetizer and be full! Just FYI... The taco salad was great too, 8/10! Had pork rinds on it! And the ceaser salad was good! Tugi kept on top of everything and will be returning because of him and the great good! The beer battered Artichoke hearts is the best ones I have had! I love Final draft brewery and always get the fried Artichoke hearts but maxwells beats FD no doubt! Only CON would be that one of the kitchen staff came out from the kitchen and was talking to the bartender, while sticking his hand in his mouth trying to get something out of his teeth?? Then went back into the kitchen, I'm assuming he washed his hands after but maybe he shouldn't do that out in the open? Heaver set kid with top roman bowl perm haircut. Other than that Maxwell is a 9/10!

I have been here twice now. The first time blew me away. BEST PIZZA EVER! The service was outstanding, the beer selection was amazing, and the pizza flavors popped. But this last time, something was missing. The beer selection was so-so, it was hard to get service at first, and my pizza tasted...moist, in a bad way...for lack of a better word. Like moist where it was a bit unpleasant to put it in my mouth. Almost soggy. Granted, this time I got it "to go," whereas the previous time I stayed there and ate. So maybe it went into the cardboard box super hot, and then steamed in its own mist like a sauna. Idk. 🤷🏽‍♀️ But I was grateful it was half price Thursday so I didn't cry too hard when I threw half of my large away. I will definitely come back if I am ever in the area, and will chalk it up to one bad night, and adjust this review as needed at a later date. In the pics are the brie pizza and the sweet/spicy pizza. Both were a little too sweet for my liking this time, but I think they let you swap out toppings if needed. (The brie is yummy! Just needs more meat added mine had hardly any.)

My husband and I took our almost 1 year old to Maxwell's tonight for dinner. My husband had never been there and I hadn't been in over 10 years. We walked in just after 5 and we had already looked over the menu and knew we wanted EVERYTHING! We started with some wings (not pictured) we did the Sriracha Iime, it was a unique flavor but I can't wait to try the other flavors. Then we found out it was half off pizza night so we ordered a large 1/2 sweet savory pork 1/2 cubano. We came for burgers so we ordered them too! He had the drunken burger and I had the Maxwell. We both upgraded our fries; garlic and bacon and cheddar. The food was amazing! We weren't disappointed! They were pretty busy and our server Mariah was on point! We never waited for our drinks to be filled and she accommodated all of our wishes. We even asked to buy a pint glass to add to our collection and Josh was happy to let us purchase one. 10/10 We'll be back for sure!!

Incidentally, the Google listing is wrong...they close at 8:00 on Sundays. Popped into Maxwell's at about 7:30 PM on July 27 on account of the Google listing of a 9:00 close (psst...they close at 8 on Sunday, for sure). On learning of their closing earlier than we'd expected, we asked if they were okay with us staying--especially as a large party walked in ahead of us--and they said, "Sure!" I didn't catch the other employees name, but Mikey was an all-star on the bar and pretty much running the show. Sure, there was some grumbling (a second large group came in after the first one), so it was understandable. Were it me, I'd probably have walked out when I was his age. Both of them did a stellar job and we'll be going there the next time we're up towards Redding. Why? The food was also awesome. I had the Big Kid Burger after reading about it in another review, and the burger itself was something like I've never experienced. The combination of flavors was unlike anything I've ever had--on a bun or otherwise. The fries? Gobsmacked me almost off the chair. My wife had the garlic chicken pizza (small) and it was more than she could eat, even after she insisted I eat a slice. FWIW, my wife's a pretty picky eater when it comes to a lot of things and I'm pretty sure her eyes rolled back in her head in ecstasy from the first bite. Awesome food, great service (especially under duress), and a fair price. I could never ask for better. Thanks to Mikey and the young lady (who couldn't help Mikey out one the bar), my wife's first experience with American pub food on our 6th anniversary was a stunning success. But get this straight Google: They close at...

My wife and our two little boys came in tonight around 8:30 pm. Our food was very greasy and subpar for the ratings this "restaurant" has received. This was our first time here. I suspect it's because most of the patrons are inebriated ( drunk ) and only looking at the waitresses which they seem to enjoy! We were not attended to but we were not at the bar. Just so no confusion is present the were only 8 people while we were there, so they weren't understaffed. I still taste grease, the food was terrible if we weren't starving we would have left but being Sunday night and living 90 miles away their wasn't a lot of options. I feel the kicker for me was when we were overcharged for for frozen tater tots and brought it to the waitresses attention ( first telling her that I was giving her 50 dollars and the rest was hers, our bill being around $42.80) she said let me fix the mistake. Mind you it was only 1.00 dollar off! Brings me back a final receipt for around $36.00, she fixed if by putting " Don't make" "Don't make" at the bottom of the reciept. Even though we had received them, grease and all!! More than just the potential patrons I thought that maybe the owner might need to know about this! All in all this was a bar maybe it was the day and time off night but we were very unsatisfied and won't be returning... want a good burger go to Five Guys for half the price and twice the QUALITY AND THEY FRESH CUT THEIR FRIES SOMETHING ANY RESPECTIBLE RESTAURANT...
