Coast Lighting has been our best vendor relationship throughout our new construction project. We are typically online shoppers, and often find vendors and their sales pitches and tactics a nuisance. Not at all the case with Coast.
Greg Belyavski and his team are remarkable. They are incredibly knowledgeable both about the wide array of aesthetic options and the intersecting technical considerations as we move from incandescent to LED (Kelvin, dimming types, bulb types, smart home control options, CRI, R-values, company reliability). They are creative in offering advice across what is a pretty wild combinatoric playing field. And, when they don't know if something exists, they are incredibly supportive in doing research. In our example, based on our unusual requirements, they researched and found a "just-released" can option with a particular warm dim curve as well as a tunable Kelvin option that saved us 10s of thousands of dollars (and presumably cost Coast Lighting a ton of margin).
I couldn't be more impressed with a partner. On top of their truly expert and unbiased advice, their help designing the lighting plan itself, and their total lack of sales pressure, the team at Coast seems to work all hours of the day and weekends as needed. I've actually had to tell them at times "no need to rush on this one" as I fear they'll be losing sleep just to help me out.

   Read moreI've been trying to get a refund on a cancelled order for over 2 weeks. Customer service after you've paid is horrible. I've called 4 times. The 2nd time, the person, Neil, did not know how to cancel the order. I got another charge for the order and a credit for the order which adds up to zero credit. The 3rd time I called, I spoke to Jeff who took my credit card information to process the credit. I waited for about a week after that and still didn't see the credit. I called a 4th time 2 days ago, and the person told me he would talk to Jeff. I never got a call back from Jeff. Still waiting. 12/23/2017 Update: I got tired of waiting and called Coast Lighting again and requested to speak to a manager. I was told that the manager was on the phone and will call me back. I received a call 1.5 hours later from Cruz. He took my credit card info. I also received an email from Greg with an attached refund receipt. I'm not sure why it took 5 calls to get a refund on a cancelled order. After multiple failed attempts trying to work with these people, I won't have much faith that I'll get a refund 'til I actually see the credit on my credit card account. I should have disputed the charge with my credit card company rather than trying to work with...
   Read moreThe 3-wire controller I was sent didn't work at all (would not light either set of lights), so I was sent a replacement, which didn't work either. One of the two channels was bad on the replacement, so no chasing effects, just one set of lights would light up. Support kept insisting I was doing something wrong even though I tested the voltage output, explained what was happening and even sent a video. They finally connected me to someone in support at the manufacturer, who confirmed what I had been saying all along and offered to send a replacement. I still have not received it, so I ended up requesting a refund and have since purchased and received the same controller on E-bay, which worked as soon as it was connected. So buyer beware, their support leaves a lot to be desired and seems to lack a basic understanding of electricity and how their products...
