We needed something to eat after a gymnastics competition nearby and our group was very hungry. We didn’t want fast food, we wanted home style food with fair prices and at a in a sit-down fining room. This restaurant not only met our requirements, it surpassed them. The food is so flavorful and the kitchen prepares each dish quickly. The serving staff is so wonderfully friendly and they had a ni Ver of suggestions depending of each person’s guess. I was in heaven. I like Peruvian food and this was my chance to try a new dish ‘Tallarin Saltado de carne (de res)’. I intended to eat only half because it’s a big portion, but I could not stop myself from enjoying every single bite until the plate was clean. So good. The ‘Pescado Apanado’ needed a sauce to go with it, but my daughter finished it all, as well. The ‘churrasco a la parrilla’ smelled so good that I would have taken a bite off my friend’s plate had I not been engorging myself with my dish. The ‘Parihuela de Mariscos’ was huge and smelled like a seafood lover’s heaven. Everything was amazing. The decor is upscale-ethnic and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. I will be back if I’m in the Redwood City área again. The helado de Lúcuma was delicious, I thought it tasted like dulce de leche, another thought it tasted like coffee, and another said it tasted like caramel; whatever it resembles, it...
Read moreThe food was delicious and satisfying, but the staff get overwhelmed quickly. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and got there while the restaurant only had 1 other family eating. The server took our order promptly and professionally.
Unfortunately, after about 15-20 min, the restaurant filled up with a lunch crowd and it was very very difficult to get a server's attention even to get another glass of water or water refill. We waited about 20-25 minutes to try to order dessert. They finally took the dessert order and we requested more water as well. One of the 2 desserts came but no water. Waited another 15 minutes for water so that we could better eat the dessert. Then we couldn't get anyone's attention to pay the check. Almost thought about walking out. One of the people in our party walked to the area in the back with the cash register to see if they could get someone's attention to pay the bill. They were standing there waiting for a staff member to become available for at least 10 min. The experience of feeling forgotten about kind of dampened our perception of...
Read moreThis Restaurant do not represent the best taste of Peruvian food, the dishes have lost the Peruvian authentic flavors, the owner is not friendly, they don't serve any dish with Quinoa which is a terrible mistake since Quinoa has became so popular in US, in google campus kitchens they serve Quinoa in different dishes, there is other Peruvian Restaurants in the bay area that serve Quinoa. Talking about prices, this place charges $11 bucks for 4 pieces of Picarones a Peruvian tradicional dessert, the web site menu shows picarones at $5.95 that price is $11 from last month September 2018.(It is a rip off). They serve excessive amounts of rice, I order the Seafood Rice or Arroz con mariscos, the flavor of the rice was bad very bad, the dessert picarones is like a donnut, it was sour it was not good, the service was also not good and not friendly, price of food is over rated for the pile of not tasty rice and picarones. I can not recommend this restaurant to no one because food has not improved and not innovated with new peruvian dishes with quinoa. Asta Nunca...
