Courtyard By Marriott Reno is an outstanding property.  It looks and feels like a modern hotel.  It has all the modern amenities one would expect in a new hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean.  There are plenty outlets to plug in your electronics as well as USB outlets throughout the room.  The bathroom was spotless and the bath products in the shower were fantastic.  The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows to sit up and watch TV.  There is a small coffe maker in the room which worked well and the coffee was good.  Be aware that there is no bathtub. Our room was fairly close to the freeway and you could hear it at night but was not unbearable.   If you are very sensitive about that ask for a room farthest from the freeway. The TV was awesome.  It was on a arm wall mount so it could be positioned for any spot in the room.  The TV interface was amazing.  It allowed you to view all the hotel/area amenities as well as watch numerous streaming channels with no logon, and the ability to connect a laptop.  There are lots of TV channels, Netflix, Amazon, HBO Go, Showtime and more.  You can also rent movies. The property has a lot of nice features.  The gym and pool areas are clean and set up nicely.  They give a spa feel with the towels placed everywhere.  There is plenty of seating/relaxing areas inside the lobby and just outside in the back courtyard.  There is a Starbucks which is also a bar in the evening. The bar tender made excellent drinks.  There is a small store to purchase small items. The refrigerator was not cold when we got in the room and the front desk sent a very nice person right away and resolved the issue.  There is a turbo cool button on the inside wall of the refrigerator. All the employees were friendly and professional. They were very attentive and were genuinely concerned about any concerns and addressed the issues immediately. The only negatives was the refrigerator had some food on the ice buildup, the sheets had a couple stains.  There is also no breakfast included. I would have to say that this property is one of the best hotels we have stayed in.  If you are staying in the Reno area for one night or many I would highly recommend staying at the Courtyard By Marriott Reno.

I'm not where to start. This property isn't your typical Courtyard experience. It's well below what you would come to expect from this brand. It's more like a motel 6. Service has been horrible. I booked a room with a king bed. They put in in a queen bed room but didn't have the courtesy to even tell me this. I went back down and said I reserved a room with a king bed, and they said too bad. The noise from the freeway is horrible. There is no thermostat. It's winter and 30 degrees outside, but I need to run the air conditioner to prevent the room from getting too hot, but with no thermostat, it just runs all night. The window leaked water all night long last night. Dripping all night. Floor wet. I asked them to fix it. They tried, but now it's leaking again tonight, so I will have to deal with that again. They have offered no compensation for the continued inconveniences. It's just not a Marriott in any way. I don't recommend staying here. I will definitely not be coming back. Very disappointed. Going to be staying at the new Hyatt from now on. The company that owns this place needs to do some serious reflection on the level of customer service they are providing. I will be filing a complaint with corporate.

Overall, the stay was really nice. I actually like the fact that they don't go into your room daily. I don't need that. Just give me enough towels/washcloths for my stay and I'm happy. The room looked really nice and I liked some of the unique light fixtures and furniture throughout the rooms and lobby. The bed was soft so while that's comfy, with my bad back, after a couple days it got harder to get comfortable. But I love having 4+ giant fluffy pillows. LOL Struggled to get the room to a comfortable temperature. It was set to 74° AC when I got there so I had to turn the AC down to 68 to get the room comfy but by the end of the week, I had the AC set to 72. LOL Everything was clean. There's barely any wear or tear that I saw so there's excellent upkeep. Now, the only reason I gave it a 4 is bc of the food, whether in the lake store or restaurant. There's barely any gluten free options to buy (like only 1-3 snacks) and the cooked food, while potentially gluten free, is NOT marked. I think some minor effort to mark the menu would make a world of difference for customers like me who are Celiac and cannot digest gluten.

Our family stayed at Courtyard for 3 nights during a recent Reno VB tournament weekend. We found the hotel clean and pleasant. The first night we had a room near the ice machine and elevator, which made us sleepless. Next morning I communicated this to the front desk staff, May, and she quickly made arrangement to move our room to the other side of the building with the help of the housekeeping staff. May is also the only few front desk staff who makes eye contacts with smiles to each customer who walks in and out of the lobby. During our stay, May greeted us every time she saw us, and made an effort to check in to ensure that our stay was a truly hospitable experience! Thank you for going above and beyond to make our stay such a pleasant experience, May! I used to work in the hospitality industry and understand how hard it is to provide high level of customer service with appropriate level of energy and care on the job everyday! Experience is a key part of hotel business. It has a huge impact on whether or not a customer will want to keep coming back. With the level of customer service May provided, we will not hesitate to book another future stay at Courtyard Reno!

PS. We had a minor strange encounter with staff who worked at Bistro (dinner shift) busy socializing with coworkers (talking/chatting/laughing loudly), and they were not happy when we interrupted them to make food orders. Luckily, the front desk staff's (May) excellent customer service outshined this small incident. Thank you again for being so professional, accommodating, and...

As a long-time Starwood loyalist, I took the opportunity following the Starwood/Marriott merger to take a solo no frills ski weekend and this exceeded my expectations. Surprisingly easy/quick access to Squaw/Alpine, clean room, very close to airport, nearby good quality food options, late check-out on last day so able to clean up after last day of skiing before heading back to the airport - overall great. Staff were very professional, courteous, and welcoming. I received good recognition of Starwood status, they were very welcoming, and accommodated my late-check out request on last day which was extremely helpful.

Though I didn't spend time in lobby/lounge/bar it was more welcoming/comfortable appearing than I expected. I'm a long-time Starwood loyalist so I'd say the lobby area was like a cross between Four Points (less nice than Courtyard) and Aloft (more modern/hipper I think than Courtyard).

"Green" option for no room cleaning is big plus. I travel constantly and never use daily room cleaning - I think it is an unbelievable waste of resources.

Room was what I expected - no frills, clean, nothing special - similar to Four Points experience, maybe a little cleaner/updated. Not as sleek as Aloft, not as nice as Sheraton. Empty fridge and actual glassware were big pluses. The major minus was a very loud and dated heater. No thermostat, constant fan noise, etc. I was able to get to comfortable temperature no problem, but loud and led to really low...
