This review has been a long time coming. I first discovered "The Urban Deli" after accompanying my roommate to a Dr. appt. And decided to try someplace new to eat. I can without a doubt say, it was an impulsive decision that I'll never regret. I found the open, relaxed atmosphere refreshing. The service was very friendly, courteous and prompt.
Now to the food. Sandwich shops are common in reno, many of them good, but compared to "The Urban Delli", they all fall short of the quality of sandwich for the dollar spent. The recipies and quality are with a doubt in my mind the best value in quality for the money. "The Urban Deli" uses top quality ingredients in they're recipes, the combination of bold flavors and textures is without compare. This is a top quality sandwich shop, my favorite being "The Kitski" roast beef perfection, with horseradish cheddar, tomatoes, onion homemade, mild but tasty horseradish sauce on a dutch crunch roll, grilled to perfection, is absolutely satisfying, I enjoy the pure bliss of every bite. So far I have tried 4 sandwiches in they're menu, and they all are of equal quality and bold satisfying flavors, I cant wait to try the others.
My non professional opinion is, if you visit "The Urban Delli" on south Virginia street, you won't leave disappointed. And if you are on a budget like me, the value of a tasty, filling quality product is absolutely worth the price, which is quite affordable.
Urban deli has won me as a loyal customer, who looks forward to the occasional opportunity to travel to the south reno sparks area.
5 stars! keep up the good...
Read moreThis review is long overdue and we have been enjoying the Urban Deli for some time but today sitting outside eating lunch we commented once again just how good the sandwiches and service are.
I grew up in New Orleans in the late 1950's when the neighborhood deli was a place you knew and they knew you and as a kid we could walk there and have a great lunch. While Urban Deli is essentially in a stip-mall and not in metropolitan hub it has the atmosphere of that neighborhood deli I grew-up enjoying.
The Kietzke is my favorite but there is plenty to select from not only in sandwiches but other great items. We have tried all of them and no matter which sandwich you select you can't go wrong.
It worth the effort, even if you go out of your way to give them a try and when you do, weather permitting sit outside and...
Read more$17 for a sandwich with no crispy bacon…. Bread was good but other than that nothing extra or exciting about the food.
Let me rephrase since the owner likes to be cocky- $17 for a combo so it’s about $6 extra for a canned soda and stale chips which I didn’t blame the staff for unless they’re not properly stocking the chips. Let alone the boxes of chips were on the ground when I came in which doesn’t seem hygienic for a food place. The microwaved bacon that you have to “request” to be crispy even though I’ve never had a sandwich place have customers request their bacon to be actually crispy. So if you want a soggy, over sauced, wilted lettuce, stale chips, and over priced canned soda here’s your spot! If not literally try anywhere else and you’ll be more satisfied! I’ll gladly...
