I’ve been a consistent customer for four years. The food is almost always good, but over the last couple years, the service has declined significantly.

Finally, it’s reached a point where I just went in, ordered take out, I waited inside, and they let my food sit behind the counter without telling me. It took multiple people ordering and getting served after me, for them to realize they didn’t call my number.

They said they called my number (they didn’t, they forgot, I was listening). If they would have just apologized, I wouldn’t be upset. But they acted confrontational when they claimed they called my number.

I’m home now, the food is ice cold, and I’m just really disappointed, because now I have to find a New Mexican restaurant to go to in South Reno.

Tacos Del Ray, if you’re reading this, your staff is absolutely rude and demeaning, and you lost a long-time customer.

Carne Asada Fries: Over-Salted, too many beans, too many fries, not enough cheese or sour cream and definitely under portioned carne asada. They should call this dish fries and beans with some meat. -On the plus they put real avocado that is fresh. -And they use crinkle cut fries.

Chips and salsa are fresh and homemade. The Chile Verde sauce is the most original take I've had north of the border.

The Carne Asada I had was tangy but not dry. I prefer this location to Mae Anne.

*If the staff are reading this: Super Burrito and Super Taqueria are both roughly $3.50 for a bean and cheese burrito.

Add more meat, cut back on the fries and beans or hey add some rice and more sour cream. Use a big tortilla on the bottom as an option and...

My experience can be summed up in one word..."meh". The South Virginia store needs to work on its game. My two beef enchiladas and one taco combo was mediocre. It was bland and the refried beans tasted of indifference. The sopa arroz was acceptable, but nothing special. My wife had a breakfast burrito that was acceptable, but lacked flavor. On the good side, it was extremely large and could feed two people. The soda dispensing machine was disgusting and appeared to not have had a proper cleaning in a long time. Look elsewhere unless disinterested counter staff and poorly cleaned dining areas are acceptable. A three star rating is generous. I get the feeling they could do better if properly motivated. They have two more locations, but I'm not very interested in coming back based on today's visit. ...
