Clarion Pointe Ridgecrest near China Lake Naval Station — Hotel in Ridgecrest

I'm really sad to be writing this review. My husband and I both woke up with bug bites all over. The beds definitely had bugs. We stayed in room 241. I have actually never experienced this before so it was pretty shocking. I thought maybe the bed was just washed with a lot of bleach, but by morning I knew it was definitely bugs. A terrifying thought. Luckily we didn't bring our luggage in so hopefully we spared ourselves from bug contamination.

Edited in response: We did see the grasshoppers all over the desert this season. They're pretty and zebra striped. At worst will jump in your face and scare you. That being said, I've never been bit by one and they weren't in our beds. Pretty sure I'd notice a big ol grasshopper. There were some black little spots on the sheets when we woke up. Also, these bites were particularly uncomfortable. Mine blistered. We were just happy to wash off and get out of there. If I were you, I'd pay for a full extermination and replace your mattresses. I understand this is an issue hotel's deal with, but claiming nothing was wrong and it's grasshoppers is way...

For a budget motel, it’s one of the best we’ve ever been in. The bed is extremely comfortable, the air conditioner was consistent but quiet, the window shades completely darken the room, and our location on the back side of the building was virtually silent. The appliances are all new and in good condition (brand new big screen hi-def TV too), and the room is small but provided everything we needed to be comfortable. Office staff was excellent, and we would definitely plan to stay here again! The room is tiny, so if you need a long-term location or lots of space it might be challenging. We only had a king bed, but both nightstands have chargers and lamps, and there is a decent little desk space along with the refrigerator and microwave. No closet, but a nice bench and hanging area with the ironing board. I marked it down a star because the floors seemed to have a lot of debris, which could be explained at the entry by the gap in the door, but the bathroom floor needed a better cleaning. Room was not very clean. Shower floor (there was no tub) was gray with dirt and there was a questionable person, who claimed to be living there, kept looking at my motorcycle as if he was wanting to take it. Also, the desk person was only there on occasion when I had a question. There was no cold water dispenser for water. In the morning, during the time the hot breakfast buffet was to be provided, I went to get breakfast 1 1/2 before the end time to find no hot food available (no eggs, no meats, potatoes, no waffle mix, nothing). No one was at the desk. I wited around fro almost 10 minutes before the manager arrived from outside. When I explained the lack of food, he responded with he'd check on the waffle mix. He went back outside and five minutes later came back and told me they ran out! So I grabbed a couple of bruised bananas, went beck to my room to eat them while packing. Once I was ready to check out, he took the kay card and did not even ask me if I wanted a receipt. I was so disgusted that I did not ask for it myself. I just had to get away...
